Re: I’m Out
is it because it tries to cheat teams to where it thinks they should be or is there somethig else that makes it bad?

It's because this isn't basketball. You can put all players in the post and win.
Basketball needs more tactical aspects than that.

thats on us not the engine. we can have a POST cap based on height and SCR/PASMarcos_Beck wrote: ↑Fri Jul 03, 2026 5:19 amIt's because this isn't basketball. You can put all players in the post and win.

Agree, it's on us. Allowing floor range adjustments creates these kinds of things.Silogical wrote: ↑Fri Jul 03, 2026 2:40 pmthats on us not the engine. we can have a POST cap based on height and SCR/PASMarcos_Beck wrote: ↑Fri Jul 03, 2026 5:19 amIt's because this isn't basketball. Re: I’m Out
not allowing it at all creates a scenario where 6'9 player 30 POST 50 SCR 40 PAS cant take most of his shots in the post, which doesnt make much sense.bt wrote: ↑Sat Jul 04, 2026 12:50 pmAgree, it's on us. So either the draft team makes players that make sense, right back to where we are except we save instructions, or draft team makes players with bad floor range that cant be fixed. No one will drat ot play these players and we're back to where we are.
middle ground is needed.

For that player, at 30 post, why should he take most of his shots in the paint though? Plus you probably don't need drive and shoot caps and could even let the game handle it with team files saving the simmer time.
Why can't we have NBA Adebayos, or Giannis or AD or Randle or any other big that is more efficient in the post yet takes and makes early 30s percentages from three.or midrange?
You want paint players, they're created with high post. Adds more strategy and value to certain players instead of just adjusting players that shouldn't be but I've mentioned this before in the past and have been universally shot down so I expect the same here.
The game isn't ideal but my point being people shouldn't complain when we engineer some of these issues ourselves.

Re: I’m Out
an example player would be roby from my team if he had 30 POST it should be realistic for a player taking 3 shots a game to instruct him to only shoot in the paint.bt wrote: ↑Sun Jul 05, 2026 8:13 am

whereas players like your examples would have high SCR/PAS so theyll be taking a lot of shots so its unrealistic for them to only shoot in the paint.
so the POST cap formula would be based on height/SCr/PAS
its also unrealistic for a player to be not able to change where they go. ron artest was basically instructed to 100 corner. it would be weird if he was 25 25 25 25 and not able to change that for his career.
no flexibility doesnt really add strategy it reduces strategy because it reduces the number of playable players to build around. if draft team makes a decent player with bizarre floor ranges a team wouldnt try to make it work that player will just sit in FA

Re: I’m Out
I think that's where we both right and wrong. There are players on both sides that do that, just doesn't mean everyone should as that I think isn't realistic. For every Roby who shoots in the paint with those ranges, there will be others like him who don't and shouldn't. Doesn't mean they all should be able to be adjusted to that though. For every Artest who is 100 corner, there will be ones who are 25 25 25 25 and will probably be bench players or dleaguers.
Using your Roby example, if you get the Roby who lives in the post, great. You get the other with only 30 post, you set him to 60 drive and shoot or pass I guess and that's your option. Doesn't mean you can't have the Roby that goes into the post, you just don't get everyone doing it. Artest the same, one with 100 corner you get and if he's efficient from the corner, that's an amazing get. The 25 25 25 25 version you may need to really drive and post/pass to make him anything.
I'm not disagreeing with you, game has some serious issues. Just saying that what we do adjustment wise has contributed to how skewed the league is but that's just my opinion. Teams may have won with more shooting, not even elite shooting, if they weren't coming up against mostly post teams that we as a league actually created. Can't argue that perimeter teams are no good if they're competing against the adjusted teams we put in place when you don't know how it would be if the post teams weren't adjusted to be that.

Re: I’m Out
i think its really unrealistic if you cant tell a guy who takes 3 shots a game to only shoot in the post.
It will be impossible to make everyone shoot in the post. To do that you will need a team full of tall low SCR/PAS players and that team will get crushed by even a mid range team. it would open up the strategy if you want guards/forwards in the post they need to be low scr/pas.
no cap on drive would prob cause more issues a high DRFL/SCR player would crush the league.
i think its just about getting whats realistic. asking roby to take all his shots in the post yes asking simons to take all his shots in the post no.
pretty easy to implement too, just put in starting this draft class.
