RAPTOR++ / 2018-2019 CSL Season / Ep.1
For those who don’t know RAPTOR++, it is a tool that combine the ratings of each player (70%) and his efficiency in game (30%). Their capacities are weighted in order to value good rebounding for bigs for example.
The % in game is also considered in the ratings which probably change the balance from 70/30 to 60/40.
The tool premiere objective is to evaluate players value when it comes to trade or free agency. It has it flaws with defensive aspects not taken into consideration (%STP, PA/SF). Sorry Memphis...
However, I believe it bring a good overview in general and was well received the last years by the league.
I decided not to include team record since I like to compare the players over the years.

Love these rankings! Great job as usual Chili. We have one member on the rankings in Dwight Howard. There's no surprise he checks in at #2 on the RAPTOR++ behind Al Jefferson since defensive metrics aren't taken into consideration.

Likely ratings, as Chili said 60-70% of the EVAL comes from a player's ratingslakeshowak7 wrote:#1 - Lebron James - Milwaukee_Bucks : 28.3pts, 47%, 4.9ast, 5.3rbd, 1.5stl, 0.5blk in 35.1min / EVAL: 93.7

Could also be that KD is playing more minutes, which is factored in.

Pretty cool article. Chili, do you strictly use FG% in this calculation? I'm curious to see if you use TS% at all, since guys that shoot a lot of 3s and players that get to the free-throw line are hurt if just FG% is used.

Awesome as always! It would be even better if it would be easy to include defensive stats. Good job Chili and it's nice to see WB leading the way for us. However, he's playing 100% of his minutes at SF, maybe he should be ranked as a SF.

This. Not sure the exact rating impact, will check the breakdown once I get back to the computer. Great article as always and I'm glad you have kept this up. Some of the old guys are still hanging around up top in some of these rankings, but that should start to change as soon as next year.

Yeah on a 36 minutes standpoint is KD #2. His numbers are inflated by his huge MPG. On top he's averaging 5 TOPG.

But I don't collect number of shots by player (not available on stat team pages) so I had to come up with a ratio by position.

You're willing to negate his impact based on minutes played (which directly inflates his usage), but not his negative stats? Okay.

Re: RAPTOR++ / 2018-2019 CSL Season / Ep.1
I have been waiting for this!
Great job on my favorite ongoing series article, great seeing Paul George and DeMarcus Cousins on this list considering the reduced minutes both have gotten this season. This is the closest Paul (99.8) has been to a 100 ranking I believe and Cuz is holding his status quo in the 90's.
Also shocked by the Rookie rankings as I had Mudiay and Harper leading ROY in my book, this gives a different perspective thanks!
