2031 Season Awards - LEAGUE VOTED
Thanks to everyone for participating! 26 GM's voted this year.
*Note: 5 points given to a 1st place vote, 3 points given to a 2nd place vote, and 1 point given to a 3rd place vote. First place votes are in parentheses.
Additionally, only those selections who received a First Place vote (OR) at least 10 total points are displayed below.
MVP
Winner: DeAndre Ayton, BKN - 87 pts (14)
Runner Up: Zion Williamson, DAL - 56 pts (5)
3rd place: Luka Doncic, NY - 29 pts (3)
Others receiving first place votes or at least 10 total points: Michael Porter, CLE - 26 (1), Bruno Fernando, MEM - 13 (1), Miles Bridges, BOS - 6 (1), Ben Simmons, MIN - 5 (1)
Notes: This season we saw a bit more of a unanimous winner, with Ayton getting more than half of first place votes. Zion and Luka switched places from last season, and the 2030 MVP Michael Porter saw his position drop to 4th despite increasing his numbers across the board.
DPoY
Winner: DeAndre Ayton, BKN - 92 pts (14)
Runner Up: Bruno Fernando, MEM - 42 pts (3)
3rd place: Rui Hachimura, LAL - 34 pts (5)
Others receiving first place votes or at least 10 total points: Davion Mitchell, CHI - 18 (0), Justice Winslow, NYK - 11 (1), Bol Bol, MIN - 6 (1), Zion Williamson, DAL - 5 (1), Matisse Thybulle, SAC - 5 (1)
Notes: Another one! The beast of Brooklyn has also been crowned the DPoY with similar votes for MVP. In fact, this is the third season in a row now that Ayton has won this award; absolutely dominant! Some familiar faces round out the list, and we see young guard Davion Mitchell join the group receiving the fourth most votes.
Rookie of the Year
Winner: Nikola Jovic, CHA - 118 pts (23)
Runner Up: Mark Williams, ORL - 62 pts (2)
3rd place: Evan Mobley, LAL - 14 pts (0)
Others receiving first place votes or at least 10 total points: Naji Marshall, ATL - 13 (1)
Notes: No surprises here! Well, maybe it is a bit of a surprise that Jovic did not receive all 26 first place votes. It looks like someone is trying to suck up to one of the Commissioners by giving Marshall a first place vote. The 19-year old Jovic had a tremendous rookie season averaging 20.4 ppg, 6.7 apg, and 5.8 rpg. The Serbian proved he can do it all and is expected to be the face of the CSL in the future.
Most Improved Player
Winner: Tyrese Haliburton, POR - 59 pts (8)
Runner Up: Bruno Fernando, MEM - 57 pts (9)
3rd place Tie: Davion Mitchell, CHI - 15 pts (2)
3rd place Tie: LaMelo Ball, ORL - 15 pts (2)
Others receiving first place votes or at least 10 total points: Troy Brown, MIL - 13 (1), David Roddy, MEM - 12 (1), Isaac Okoro, ATL - 10 (1), Anthony Edwards, ORL - 6 (1), Bam Adebayo, DEN - 6 (1)
Notes: This one was close! Fernando received one more first place vote, but Haliburton took the overall. Lets take a closer look at these comparisons from 2030 to 2031 for these two:
Haliburton: +3.8 mpg, +8.2 ppg, +0.3 rpg, -0.3 apg, +0.1 spg, +0.1 bpg, +3% FG, +157 3pt made
Fernando: +4.2 mpg, +7.3 ppg, +2.9 rpg, +0.5 apg, +0.2 spg, +0.1 bpg, -1.8% FG
6th Man of the Year
Winner: Skal Labissiere, BOS - 69 pts (10)
Runner Up: David Roddy, MEM - 44 pts (5)
3rd place: Tony Carr, MIA - 20 pts (2)
Others receiving first place votes or at least 10 total points: Lindell Wigginton, BOS - 19 (3), Devonte Graham, GSW 15 (1), Henry Ellenson, PHX - 15 (0), Paul Reed, PHI - 10 (1), Viny Okouo, MIN - 9 (1), Oshae Brisset, NYK - 8 (1), Reid Travis, IND - 7 (1), Rashad Vaughn, BKN - 7 (1)
Notes: Skal has always bounced between the starting lineup and the bench in Boston, but this year he averaged over 20 ppg for the first time in his career. He did start 21 games, but that wasn't enough to turn people off of voting for his accomplishments.
GM of the Year
Winner: drumr, CLE - 52 pts (8)
Runner Up: Silogical, MIA - 27 pts (2)
3rd place:andrei, MEM - 26 pts (5)
Others receiving first place votes or at least 10 total points: rh0xxy, CHI - 23 (3), Flaming Homer, ATL - 18 (3), AlexS, MIN - 17 (1), GreenBear, POR - 15 (1), bt, SAC - 13 (1), wms02a, DAL - 9 (1), blackice, TOR - 5 (1)
Notes: Last year we saw bt sweep the GM and COTY awards. This year we see drumr take home the GM of the Year Award by trading for Michael Porter out of Sacramento to lead Cleveland back to the playoffs with a 45-37 record.
Coach of the Year
Winner: Silogical, CLE - 42 pts (5)
Runner Up: andrei, MEM - 41 pts (6)
3rd place:rh0xxy, CHI - 25 pts (2)
Others receiving first place votes or at least 10 total points: drumr, CLE - 23 (2), GreenBear, POR - 22 (4), cb4raptorscb4, GSW - 13 (1), Dennis, BOS - 12 (1), Flaming Homer, ATL - 11 (1), wms02a, DAL - 10 (2), KW, HOU - 9 (1), blackice, TOR - 6 (1)
Notes: A nail biter here! However, at the end of the day, Silo from Miami takes home the award after leading the Heat to a 60 win season. Quite impressive stuff after trading Simmons and Kuzma!
Congrats to all of the winners this year.
Thanks again to everyone for voting!

Re: 2031 Season Awards - LEAGUE VOTED
My bad being late to the game for the awards announcements.
Well deserved MVP and DPoY for Ayton. He’s up there with Zion for being the most unstoppable force in the CSL (currently). Adam has done a great job of putting a really nice team around him as well.
Jovic should have gotten a clean sweep of RoY, outside of Dylan not being able to vote for him. Willaims and Marshall had really good seasons and should be studs in their respective careers. Classic example of some people going against the grain just to go against the grain though (which I get to some degree).
I always find Most improved to be one of the hardest awards to vote for. Really tight between Hali and Fernando, with both deserving to be up for the award.
Congrats to Josh on winning GMotY! The Porter trade put the Cavs on the map, but it was the Simons for Kuzma trade that really sticks out to me. Kuzma was a perfect Robin to Porter’s Batman, and the Cavs really took off after that trade.
Super tight race for CotY! Both Silo and Andrei were deserving, but I guess there can only be one. What the Heat were able to accomplish without any “dominant stars” was really commendable. And it’s been really cool watching the Grizz get better systematically under Andrei every single year.
