2029 - Retiring player list

Post by Flaming Homer »

We went with the game for the retirement, it seems the craziness didn't happen in 22.

Following players decided to call it quits (shown in game):

Bryce Cotton after 15 years
Willie Cauley-Stein after 14 years
TJ McConnell after 13 years
Matthew Dellavedova after 11 years
Okaro White after 15 years
Justin Holiday after 11 years
Kadeem Allen after 7 years
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist after 17 years

Kadeem Allen retiring after starting for a conf finals team is mind boggling
The rest had nice careers and will be missed!

Kadeem Allen is an absolute lockdown defender and only 31. He turned Monk into Jordan Clarkson in our first round series. That's a wild retirement.

Between Okaro, Allen, and MKG, that's three of the best defenders in league history. WCS and Holiday were really good defenders too.

Kadeem Allen’s retirement makes no sense, but the rest all makes sense. Some very good careers there!

I always thought he was drafted already 27 or something like that?

yeah he was 24, same draft as Ayton. Dude played 5 years at the minimum, got big bucks for a couple from Denver and peaced out

I always felt like we should rename DPotY the Okaro White Award. Dude was hands down the greatest defender for years

Damn, Allen is a surprise. He just started 102 games this year lol.

Quite a few nostalgic top defenders on that short list.

Dellavedova was a Buck for some time. We wish him the best. A 31-year-old starter in a good team retiring is a bit worrying moving forward, I hope it's some kind of outlier.

More reasons why I hate this engine. A first team all defensive player who started on a conference finals team and would likely have gotten paid this offseason decided to retire. Has this ever happened in basketball before?

Its happened a couple times in football but I can't think of one example in basketball.
FINALLY a logical HC Rule our work is done

Dude probably wants to spend more time with his family or beat on his missus and steps away or play baseball or is heading to the UFC

I mean once my manager gave up on me, I would consider leaving too.
