Warriors Ready to Tackle Suns

The Warriors are in tough. After clinching the 8th seed in the West, they are prepared to take on the defending Champion Phoenix Suns. The Suns finished with a 55-27 record, but that number is a little deceiving due to their poor start at the beginning of the season. If you look at the last few months, the Suns are an absolute juggernaut. Here's just a few facts about how they've been performing:
  • Finished the season winning 11 out of 12 with their only loss against Golden State, but they were resting players
  • They had a 10 game win streak from March 17 to April 6
  • They didn't lose a game in February
  • They had a 15 game win streak from January 29 to March 4
  • Their last regular lineup loss at home was January 2 to the Atlanta Hawks (not including the GS loss when resting players)
  • They are 28-4 in their last 32 games
Any betting person would say the Suns will win this series in 4, maybe 5 games. They are pretty much unbeatable at home, so if the Warriors can steal one of the first 2 games it may be considered a miracle.

That being said, it will be interesting to see how the Suns handle the Warriors size. Golden State has been deploying a jumbo lineup and that probably won't change in the playoffs. Expect to see a heavy dose of minutes for the likes of Dozier, Layman, and Ellenson. Let the playoffs begin!

it would be a tough task to beat the Suns more over in a series but who knows, warriors might have some tricks up in their sleeves to shock the league, definitely an interesting series to watch out for...

The Suns are the hottest team right now going into the playoffs so that’s a tough task. If you pull it off, I would be shocked but we’ve seen 8s beat 1s here before.

It's going to be extremely tough to beat the Suns, as they have been on a roll since Doug's return. I think stealing a game or two from them would be a huge victory for your team at this point.
Big changes are coming in D.C.

Haha not sure but would be great if it happened here

Kicking ourselves for not getting 7th.. not that the Kings are much easier, but the Suns are ridiculous lately.

It sounds cliche to say, but anything can happen in DDS. We earned the moniker "Choke City" by making the seemingly impossible, possible. Especially when Mccollum is on the roster 🙂

But honestly, you guys do have a jumbo lineup like you said (especially when you're running Ellenson at the 3 and Dozier at the point), and it's no secret that rebounding is probably our biggest weakness. I had to really think about what matchups I was going to set on defense. We're beatable just like everyone else. You have the right mindset of just focusing on the first couple games. You steal one on the road and you have yourself a series. Best of luck to you, sir (but not really... Go Suns 😉)
