Stevens, 59, coached the last four years the Chicago Bulls, where he led the team to three-consecutive winning seasons, despite not advancing beyond the first round of the playoffs. He now faces the challenge to bring the Bucks back to the post-season as the team missed the playoffs this year, finishing with its worst record in years at 36-46.
Being consistently one the top defensive teams in the CSL, the Bucks Achilles heel has always been offensive efficiency and spacing. Stevens is expected to make heavy adjustments on the team's offensive schemes. While the Edwards trade was made before his arrival, he is a player who fits Stevens plans. Not only outside shooting needs improvement, but the overall offense lacked rhythm as the Bucks played one of the slowest paces in the league. That may change with Stevens at the helm and Edwards ability to change the game dynamics. However, an adaptation time may be needed until we see these new Bucks at full strength.
