Welcome Brad

Post by mgtr81 »

This offseason is being a busy one in Milwaukee. After acquiring Anthony Edwards and the rights to rookie Jalen Lewis from the Washington Wizards, the Bucks saw how Okaro White, who had replaced Erik Spoesltra for the last 17 games of the last regular season, winning 10 of them, opted to sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers for the same salary that the Bucks were offering. While disappointed, the Bucks Front Office reacted quickly and signed Brad Stevens to a four-year deal, worth $20M over the length of the contract.

Stevens, 59, coached the last four years the Chicago Bulls, where he led the team to three-consecutive winning seasons, despite not advancing beyond the first round of the playoffs. He now faces the challenge to bring the Bucks back to the post-season as the team missed the playoffs this year, finishing with its worst record in years at 36-46.

Being consistently one the top defensive teams in the CSL, the Bucks Achilles heel has always been offensive efficiency and spacing. Stevens is expected to make heavy adjustments on the team's offensive schemes. While the Edwards trade was made before his arrival, he is a player who fits Stevens plans. Not only outside shooting needs improvement, but the overall offense lacked rhythm as the Bucks played one of the slowest paces in the league. That may change with Stevens at the helm and Edwards ability to change the game dynamics. However, an adaptation time may be needed until we see these new Bucks at full strength.

Good luck with ANT, I fully expect him to do well under your watch. That backcourt of ANT and Brown will be tough to go against with their defense and ball handling.

Edwards should definitely help the offensive output.

This Bucks team has always been a defensive juggernaut, and I don't see that changing anytime soon behind Nassir Little and Troy Brown. Brad Stevens is now tasked with turning an already good scoring option in Anthony Edwards into a #1 option.

Sucks to lose Okaro but Stevens is a more than capable replacement. Good luck and can't wait to see if Ant can finally be unlocked.
