The 2033 Free Agent Class - Unrestricted

Post by Flaming Homer »

With the Hawks finally have some potential cap space, about time I took a look at the upcoming free agents classe. Or at least the UFA so far.

Link: https://www.keep-at-it.de/images/csl/33/urfa-2033.html

I did as usually a quick calculation what the cap situation could look like.
That of course can change quite a bit depending on GM's decisions on options or trades.
For the calculation I set PO as guaranteed contract and TO declined. I renounced player rights for teams/payers where I though tit would make sense and kept them for other teams.

Cap prediction:

Atlanta: 25 Mil
Boston: 0
Brooklyn: 0
Charlotte: 0
Chicago: 0
Cleveland: 0
Dallas: 0
Denver: 0
Detroit: 4 Mil
Golden State: 0
Houston: 0
Indiana: 51 Mil
Los Angeles C: 41 Mil
Los Angeles L: 5 Mil
Memphis: 0
Miami: 0
Milwaukee: 0
Minnesota: 0
New Orleans: 28 Mil
New York: 0
Oklahoma City: 26 Mil
Orlando: 10 Mil
Philadelphia: 0
Phoenix: 14 Mil
Portland: 0
Sacramento: 0
San Antonio: 0
Toronto: 0
Utah: 0
Washington: 0

And here also the list of players with TO or PO.

Notable players with team option:

PJ Washington
Gyorgy Goloman
Keldon Johnson
Bam Adebayo
RJ Barrett
Josh Green
Jarrell Brantley
Oshae Brissett
Udoka Azubuike
Ben Simmons
Nicolo Melli
Zach Collins
Aaron Wiggins
Moses Brown
Kendrick Nunn
Ivan Rabb
Brandon Clarke
Jonathan Isaac

Notable players with player option:
Malachi Richardson
Jalen Brunson
Daniel Gafford
Johnny Hamilton
Kristaps Porzingis

Wow, probably the best UFA class we’ve ever had. Glad we will finally have cap to spend to try and lure one away.

Gotta max Luka day 1 and give Porter more than his asking price. We can afford it.

The Luka and Zion class. Some other big time names too. Miami notably has 3 UFAs on this list.

strong class, with a few teams with crazy cap room! should be a very fun offseason between these guys and a pretty good RFA crop as well

Crazy that Atlanta will have 25M in cap space. I think New Orleans are also a team to watch if they can snatch a solid player next to Wemby in his 3rd season. I suspect he'll make a major leap next year.

As for FA class, yeah, you not only got an All Star at every position and also a few future legends in there.

ATL could comfortably clear two maxes if they want to, scary

Yeah, we should be able to free up around 30. But if the timing sucks, we may end up restricted to vet min deals to fill out the roster later. And it is rough to pry a max worthy guy away.
Really have to see how the team performs in the playoffs. If we falter, that is the way to go.

This was a great read, and you are correct that our rebuild will finally start this offseason. Not sure where that leaves us with Diallo, I love him and at age 28 he should be a big target for teams looking to add a perimeter star who plays both ends of the court at a high level. I think teams will target him but we'll see. I'm really curious to see what MIA does this offseason.

MIA took the season off. I guess they don't care anymore it seems.

Yeah, really nice class there.

Hawks are pretty much top of the league and have a ton of space which is amazing. They'll have some tough decisions though as Golomon and Washington have been good and then there's Alvarado, Perry and Melo. You sign a max deal and it might put Murray or Marshall's future contract in jeopardy but plenty of time to make moves and address that if need be.

Exactly this. Not an easy decision.

I'll be more than happy if GMs only look at these players ;) I know it's easy to forget players with so many FAs, so no worries.

Jokes aside, great work as usual. I agree with others that it's a great class.

Ups, shoot I see. He totally went thru the net :-)
Thought you mean Livers, but I have him in the RFA class.

Nice read. Top heavy UFA it seems and a bunch of role players after that. Interesting to see where these players lands.

This class is so good. As a team looking to rebuild/tool I should have paid more attention and cleared out max cap space for this offseason.

Zion and Luka gone, but there are some fantastic FAs out there still.
Without the top two dogs, it's not as strong of a class as RFA one, but there's enough depth for teams in possession of MLEs to chase, and some solid vets as well

It's no secret we want Gill back at a reasonable price, he's solid depth I believe. Not a premium SF class outside of Luka btw.
I had no idea Nwora had resurrected his career like that in Dallas. He was the secondary scorer Zion needed at a dirty cheap deal lol
