Clippers Accept.

A huge deal that came together pretty quickly, but for me the opportunity to get a 23-year-old likely all-star was too good to pass up. While I can see some thinking we overpaid, I see dealing a guy I'm not positive I wanted to pay given he's had a rough year, and two secondary starters for a tentpole star I can build around in the future. In addition, we had a 27-year-old Harris who's had a down year, but I think could slot in alongside Hezonja for me and be a quality shooter for us.

I get a backup PG and also shed $11MM
In salary next year. Harris just didn’t work very well in SA and I’m sure he will do a lot
Better in LAC. - Accept

This really came together in less than 12 hours which really caught me by surprise. I was throwing out some feelers for Hezonja and Dylan obliged. Moving on from Hezonja was tough but he's not the type of player I'm looking to build my franchise around. Our offense was VERY one dimensional with him dominating the rock. On top of that, our top-3 scorers of Hezonja, Turner and Lawson were all interior scorers. And while I love Mario's ability to score the rock, his shooting percentages are beyond hot-and-cold and was driving me crazy. We also move on from Lawson who was signed as a stop gap and a large expiring exactly for a deal like this.

In return, we bring in an elite shooter in Rashad Vaughn to help diversify our offense a lot. He's a high percentage shooter and should open up things for Myles Turner and DeAndre Ayton nicely in the post.

Our point guard position has been a complete disaster all season long, so to bring in a bridge point guard like D'Angelo Russell definitely helps. He's not going to be anointed as the PG of the future any time soon, but he's much better than Lawson or Frank Jackson at this point.

Jordan Mickey gives us a big man that is an elite shot blocker and should be able sure up our defense in the paint nicely. He will play the PF position behind Pascal Siakam while Myles Turner and DeAndre Ayton split time at C, giving us four big men we can throw out there with complete confidence.
