The Brian Schmitz Report: Van Done-dy?

Post Author: WillyJakkz » Mon Sep 30, 2019 5:21 am

Brian Schmitz: Magic Head Coach Jeff Van Gundy was recently overhead going on a tirade during a practice in which he told SF Josh Jackson to "take a shower" as he dismissed the SF from activities which subsequently led to his benching vs the LA Clippers.
Image
JVG: "I don't know... You've got guys who feel entitled to play regardless of their attitudes or this "Kansas Kids" thing and although I appreciate the hard work, you've got to work hard in practice... Doesn't matter what level you're on..."

Reporter: "Coach, do you feel like the players are starting to tune you out?"

Image
JVG: "Hell, I'd tune me out... But to answer your question it works both ways... When I press they tune me out. When they bitch and complain I tune them out."
It's appearing the coach is starting to become weary of the team. We will keep a close eye on things as they develop.

I liked Jackson a lot coming out of the draft, but man he plays a shitty season so far.
Hope he can turn it around.

Your team has a ton of talent, but is missing that one thing that would make a huge difference and potentially put you into the playoffs. I'm hoping you can round it out so that we start seeing some winning seasons again in Orlando.

This team has talent for sure, but the fit might not be it for this team. I think with a few moves made, this team can make the playoffs.

Devyn-Marble/Lewis
Hezonja/Dotson/Leaf
Anigbogu/Rabb/Giles/Spellman

It's not Van Gundy's fault that every team knows to 9 zone Orlando.

I think all three of Wiggins, Mitchell, and Jackson are shooting well below their ratings at the moment and it should correct but this team desperately needs a zone buster so that the effectiveness of the rest of your players aren't limited.

Yeah a killer from behind the arc like Quarterman really would be the dagger through Orlando's heart haha
