I agree with Dennis if the interpretation is that's not a good offer for Ayton.

Just recently in that Top 20 Drafted article (though I don't agree with the rankings or some of the players listed) Dennis Smith Jr and PJ Dozier aren't anywhere near Top 20 so to offer that for a guy in Ayton (who is deemed near Top 20) that doesn't move the needle at all for BK.

Nope. Only way he gets a #2 is if he renounces everyone and clears max space in FA. The rest of the roster isn't going to attract anywhere near enough interest for a #2 - not even if he literally traded the entire rest of the team for that #2.
Agreed. He definitely ain't getting a number 2 with what he has on the roster UNLESS a team hits the reset button and has an older player they're looking to move for depth then that could possibly work.

I think New Orleans has lots of options should they go the "trade Anthony Davis" route. I agree with whoever said his value isn't what it was and the old GM waited a year too late if he were to be traded.

That said he can command a young up and coming star or stars and picks or an established star, young player and pick(s), or a superstar and young player OR a pick.

Oh and Ayton should be top 5. Dont know how Dennis could leave him off the top 20.

If I can move Kyrie for an aging superstar, one lotto pick, and 2 1sts then A.D. should go for more period as he has at least 4 more seasons as a top 5 player. Plus this injury crap should end with the 19's engine.b
Well you found a taker. Who should be taker for AD right now that has a similar package to offer?
I would offer quite a lot for AD including something to really build around

No joke here.
Anyone who says AD isn’t worth a lot is crazy. He’s the only player in the league i’d trade Markkanen for. He’s the best player in CSL, period.
Not much to be said. If people are not willing to move a building block to have AD, I am. Markkanen is one of the best young players in this league, still developing.. and anyone who has AD, if he stays healthy, is a title contender. Medium risk high reward i’d Say.

I don’t get it.
If Ayton is a legit piece to work a deal for AD why isn’t Markkanen one too?

Just cause you are willing to offer a couple of low value picks and Knox to try to lure AD basically for free that means my players have no value?
Name a player who at his second year in the league averaged 20/8 on 60+ TS%? None.

Guy hasn’t even got his endurance boosts yet. KAT and Zingis who are among if not the very best young post players right now had to wait until year 3 to blossom. Markkanen led us to postseason in his first two years as the leading scorer of the team. Not bad for a under 90 END guy.

I'd say Markkanen definitely has value, and his supporters, but it's really GM specific. He just doesn't compare to KAT or KP because of his lack of defense but I personally have him on Taylor's level. Another young guy with a great scoring knack but not great defensively. Nothing wrong with him as part of an AD deal though that's for sure.

I'd say if they were to deal AD, that's if, would have to be a Kyrie type deal with solid players and multiple picks. With no pick next season, any AD deal needs solid players in return so they don't hand over a top 3 pick to whoever owns it.

From what I hear though, if they renounce, they have cap space? With the new system, the lure to play with AD might be right up there for those FA's who aren't getting it done elsewhere (Jabari?).

At this point NO needs to be patient, and see how free agency pans out before moving AD, as they will have cap space by renouncing everyone where they can snatch one high end FA, then a solid FA with the remaining cap space.

I'm right there with you. He's on par with Taylor when it comes to value, but Taylor was the leading scorer of a title-winning team. So, I'd say Markkanen is a pretty valuable asset too.

Lauri is comparable to Monk both are all-world offensive players and absolutely terrible defenders. These players hold a lot of value because the league over values offense. If you flip the script and find an all-world defender who is terrible on offense you got a guy who no one cares about like justice winslow.

AD is all-world offense and defense and that;s what ayton should become so that's why ayton is so much more valuable. if im NOP i hold out for a young 2-way player or an amazing package.

This
No reason to rush since they don't have their pick next year. Better check out all offers and take your time.
And it should return more than the Kyrie package imo, we are talking the best player in the league.

But option FA should be first anyway.

If I was a GM that wasnt concerned about being a contender next season I would go ahead and trade for any player with an injury history or if I had the injury proned player I wouldn't discount their value any. Dds19 isnt going to know that AD was injury proned here so why should New Orleans even entertain low ball offers due to his current injury issues.

IMO his value should be the highest it has been in the past 3 seasons.
