I watched most of it.

I appreciate other opinions about the Knicks. Shows what some of the top gm's think regarding our situation.

I am just instructing Luka the way he was, when dds19 ended. I'm a few instructions away, but wanted a fresh start with instructions next year.

Experimenting lineups too.

Btw thanks for the fg% jinx. Haha

Great job guys!

I admit we are still a bit surprised by our success, but our teams depth is really proving vital. Thanks for bringing up that Kyrie shot :(

Great job guys! Can't wait for the pre-draft special episode.

Interesting to hear your thoughts on the two Trae deals that Gary made. IMO they were actually pretty fair in value and a good move by Gary to take a shot at Trae and then readjust when it didn't work.

ANT
Tillie
DET 30 1st
vs.
Garuba
Yurtseven
SAS 30 & 32 1st

DET 30 1st is going to be like 4 picks higher than SAS 30 1st (16 v 20, maybe)
Tillie = Yurtseven (overpaid 2nd unit bigs)

Which leaves ANT for Garuba + SAS 32 1st. ANT is a good player but he'll never be elite (reminds me a lot of Garland) and he doesn't fit with McLaughlin. Garuba could turn out to be a starter-caliber Forward and the pick adds flexibility, even if it's gonna be in the 20s. Not the steal of the century but I think pretty fair value for a what was a free opportunity to play with Trae Young.

Just listened to the podcast I loved it can’t wait for the next one . For the west right now ..as much as you guys want to see a Houston vs Utah matchup I’m not sure that will happen . We have a hard schedule especially with 6 straight on the road and minny and Memphis are hot right now . It will be close plus we lost to Houston recently by 1 point

Thanks for digging up the first Trae trade. Admittedly, I don't know much about ANT because I've never really looked at him closely. All I knew is that he was the #1 overall pick last year, so in my head, when I replace ANT with #1 overall pick, it looks lopsided. But of course once a player is drafted, where they were picked doesn't matter in terms of future trade value.

But yeah, when you break it down like you say, the value given up vs received back from the Trae Young trades seem pretty reasonable.

Sorry that I had to bail last minute due to coaching in real life, but this was a great listen on the way back home. Marcos' English has improved so much since the last time we have done a podcast together! Hopefully I can make it up to you and join in on the next one!

Haha all good of course, Gary. Still think you should be fired ;)

I think that's awesome that you coach in real life. You're always welcome on the Choke City Pod.

Great job guys, that was fun listening to!

I completely agree with your take on the Luka - Zion trade. Fair and interesting overall, with Dallas having a good chance to totally rebuild around Zion from here. NY will see how good the old team can work around Luka during the playoffs.

The Trae deal is I think ok for Washington. I'm not sure if his value was only low at the trade deadline. I mentioned it before somewhere, to me Trae lost a bit this status as star player and is more like a Luxury role player. No mistake, I would love to have him on my roster, he should fit with almost every team, but I would not pay up for him like for a franchise player.

Regarding the play-ins in the East - we are surprisingly still in, but it will not be easy. We really need to win some of the next few games to make it. I don't expect us to win much during the last 7 or 8, the teams we will face are just too good.
Overall good to see that the play in competition is to tough, gives an additional boost to the normal playoff race.

Can't wait for the draft edition!!!
