RAPTOR++ / 2019-2020 CSL Season Ep.2
For those who don’t know RAPTOR++, it is a tool that combine the ratings of each player (70%) and his efficiency in game (30%). Their capacities are weighted in order to value good rebounding for bigs for example.
The % in game is also considered in the ratings which probably change the balance from 70/30 to 60/40.
The tool premiere objective is to evaluate players value when it comes to trade or free agency. It has it flaws with some defensive aspects not taken into consideration (%STP, PA/SF).
However, I believe it bring a good overview in general and was well received the last years by the league.
I decided not to include team record since I like to compare the players over the years.

Nice. Good to see Parsons get on the list too, alongside his pals Dante and now Faried.

I can't wait to see Whiteside the number 1 center soon. Porzingbust likely will never see what this list looks like...

I feel sad that Whiteside took all of our Cs to school in the recent game. Toyed with us like we completely forgot how to play basketballemplep7 wrote:I can't wait to see Whiteside the number 1 center soon. Porzingbust likely will never see what this list looks like...

Good to see Valenciunas making the list, along with Yabusele, and Harris making the honorable mention. Surprise that Cotton didn't make it.

Pretty happy to see Wall atop this list. His shooting has been out of wack since he got here but he's still been a great defender, and solid playmaker. Hopefully he can get the shot ironed out in time to make one last push for the playoffs.

Re: RAPTOR++ / 2019-2020 CSL Season Ep.2
Gordon is putting up better numbers than Solomon but isnt even close to the top 10?
Gordon: 13.6p, 7.7r, 1s, 1.5b, 54,5%
Solomon: 13.3p, 6.7r, 1s, 0.9b, 56%
I get Salomon is ranked higher because of fewer minutes played (2 minutes), but why is there such a big difference?

I love these ratings. Surprised Blake is so high despite those haves he was credited for he didn't play. Thought Dwight would have been higher.
My rookie Coty Clarke has been slept on. Has double digit scoring when he started for injuries and has backed up Harkless all season and played PF while Blake was out. Hovering around a 45% fg too. If he were playing 26 mins a game he'd be close to the top rookies stat wise.

Re: RAPTOR++ / 2019-2020 CSL Season Ep.2
Great work here Chili, really enjoy this series.
I think Carr should be a top 10 rookie given his ridiculous efficiency for a guard - 8PPG in 14.5 MPG / 47 FG%, but given the higher volume, and minutes of some of the other rookies I understand. I'm taking Dame over any PG in the league but #5 on your rankings in pretty respectable, I gather defensive ratings play into guys like Wall/Bledsoe/Walker being higher.

Nice work.
I thought it was good seeing Westbrook have the highest rating league wide until I saw Anthony Davis who is over the 100 mark.

Don't know about their future but man the rookies this season are raw. Even starters on bad teams can barely score 13 a game...

The % in game is also considered in the ratings which probably change the balance from 70/30 to 60/40.hardenwithnod wrote:You guys have to remember that these rankings are heavily driven by ratings (70%)
The tool premiere objective was to evaluate players value when it comes to trade or free agency - it is not an efficiency rating only
