RAPTOR++ / Final 2018-2019 CSL Season
For those who don’t know RAPTOR++, it is a tool that combine the ratings of each player (70%) and his efficiency in game (30%). Their capacities are weighted in order to value good rebounding for bigs for example.
The % in game is also considered in the ratings which probably change the balance from 70/30 to 60/40.
The tool premiere objective is to evaluate players value when it comes to trade or free agency. It has it flaws with defensive aspects not taken into consideration (%STP, PA/SF).
However, I believe it bring a good overview in general and was well received the last years by the league.
I decided not to include team record since I like to compare the players over the years.

This is interesting as usually. However, to be honest I kinda lost interest in these rating once you revealed that half of the players effort (defense) is not even taken into account.
Congrats to season 16 ASL champion SoulKey. For the Swarm!

This is not true. DEF, STL and BLK ratings are considered. Steals and Blocks statistics as well.andrei wrote:This is interesting as usually. However, to be honest I kinda lost interest in these rating once you revealed that half of the players effort (defense) is not even taken into account.
The only defensive statistics not considered are PA/SF and STP%. The model is build to have them but there is no way to extract them automatically.

Smith is our only player making the good list ... a couple others in the last list.
That being said, I think Bolomboy can become a solid rotational defensive player in the future.

Love seeing Kyrie and Blake up there. Finally have the same big guns as the other Eastern contenders. We can get one more guy off these lists as a complimentary player to make a real big 3 and it's on in the East.

Great stuff, I have Kemba as the best PG in the league and Lillard second, so I agree with his place on your list. Might argue Bledsoe as well, he had some injury issues but he is such a force on both ends.

How couldn't you make the playoffs with the second best PG in the league?blackice wrote:Great stuff, I have Kemba as the best PG in the league and Lillard second, so I agree with his place on your list. Might argue Bledsoe as well, he had some injury issues but he is such a force on both ends.
Honestly, Wall, Bledsoe. Payton, Westbrook, Rose, Lin, curry and at least 1-2 more which I forgot have a bigger impact on their team than Lil

Agree with all of these plus Kyrie and the multitude of SGs that are capable of playing PG as well.Dennis wrote:How couldn't you make the playoffs with the second best PG in the league?blackice wrote:Great stuff, I have Kemba as the best PG in the league and Lillard second, so I agree with his place on your list. Great seeing Paul George finish #1 at SG once again and having both my C's DeMarcus Cousins and Brook Lopez finish #3 #8 respectively in limited roles for both due to team makeup.

Interesting metric. Is this just a rating based on box score stats? Seems like offence is valued very heavily. By that I mean scoring.

It's based on ratings, and stats. Defensive metrics aren't used though.

Re: RAPTOR++ / Final 2018-2019 CSL Season
Given the shooting struggles Harden had for a significant chunk of the season (and then the injury at the end), I'm pretty happy that he finished 8th in Raptor++ this season. He was hovering around 30% from deep until he and LaVine caught fire after the All-Star break and before his injury. All three of Harden, LaVine, and Marble had nightmare shooting seasons prior to the all-star break.
