RAPTOR++ / Final 2017-2018 CSL Season
For those who don’t know RAPTOR++, it is a tool that combine the ratings of each player (70%) and his efficiency in game (30%). Their capacities are weighted in order to value good rebounding for bigs for example.
The % in game is also considered in the ratings which probably change the balance from 70/30 to 60/40.
The tool premiere objective is to evaluate players value when it comes to trade or free agency. It has it flaws with defensive aspects not taken into consideration (%STP, PA/SF)
However, I believe it bring a good overview in general and was well received last year by the league.
I decided not to include team record since I like to compare the players over the years.

Re: RAPTOR++ / Final 2017-2018 CSL Season
Exceptional stuff as usually Chili
How did Gary Harris managed to sneak in to the top 10 at SG? Dude is exceptionally talented all-around and will be producing some big numbers next year.
Miller is also quite close there even though I got him to come off the bench for half a season.
Well done dude

My favorite article, thanks for taking the time to do this series Chili!
Looks like Paul George and DeMarcus Cousins have some work to do to reclaim the #1 spots.
Challenge accepted!
Also has there ever been a player to have such an underrated great season yet still be disrespected as much as Damian Lillard?
Glad he gets to go up against the Pelicans.

He played only 40 games. he doesn't meet the requirements (minimum 50 games and 20 minutes by game)Mattybriand wrote:Dragic?

Man iBaka completely dropped off the list for the first time in his career. My bigs did poor this year and no love for Ricky and his top notch defense on these lists. Kemba tried his best to take off Kyrie but failed at the end.
Great job yet again Chili!

Good stuff, glad to see John Wall up there. Harden and KD are ridiculous lol. I need to figure out a way to get Enes Kanter to play more efficiently/consistently, as I feel if managed right, he can sneak into the top 10 center rankings.

Thanks for pointing out Valentine. He, Denver first and Zipser were my main targets in trading MKG. I knew Valentine was going to be solid, but never expected to put up what he did this season.
52nd Valentine> 10th Booker
The true rookie of the year is up in air. You look at Stanley Johnson, but once he went to the Spurs he actually disappointed and only went 12-6 in 28mpg.
Tough race for ROTY

Valentine was a real steal for you. I was waffling between him, Holmes, and a couple other guys with the 42nd pick. Wish I'd taken Valentine, since I've already traded off Holmes for very little.8timechamp wrote:Thanks for pointing out Valentine. He, Denver first and Zipser were my main targets in trading MKG. Re: RAPTOR++ / Final 2017-2018 CSL Season
Talking to Denver gm, he gave me the pick(any 2), between any of his 2nd round picks. I looked into all of them, but Valentine just popped out to me. I pushed to make the trade happen after I saw his potential, even though I had not scouted in my life at the time. He's going to be a very good 6th man. 77 scoring potential?! Re: RAPTOR++ / Final 2017-2018 CSL Season
Valentine had a solid rookie season but lets remember he was on a 15-67 team. He didn't shoot it particularly well but he is a rookie so that may be expected. Lets see what happens in the next few seasons. Since his scoring rating is his primary strength, he needs to get that shooting % up to 45%+ to really be effective.
Congrats to season 16 ASL champion SoulKey. For the Swarm!

Couple of our guys still hanging around but lower minutes means less production which lowers them here.

Actually the minutes doesn't affect the rating as I take the production by minute.bt wrote:Couple of our guys still hanging around but lower minutes means less production which lowers them here.

Yeah he was shooting 45% for most of the season then the last quarter of the season he shot like crap which lowered his percentages.andrei wrote:Valentine had a solid rookie season but lets remember he was on a 15-67 team. But like you said, it's to be expected since he is a rookie.

Good job once again. Glad to make the playoffs. We haven't started well but I know that we are not ready to contend yet and that the Bulls aren't a good matchup for us. Hopefully we can make a step forward next season.
