Round 2 - Pick 38 - Phoenix Suns

Post by thecoolestjedi »

The Phoenix Suns select SF Kessler Edwards out of Pepperdine

|Kessler Edwards |20 |SF |6'7 |203| Pepperdine

Strengths:
+ Good Defender

Weaknesses:
- Not good at much else

The Suns are said to be thrilled with the pick; needed some depth in the 3 area of the floor for defense that they feel they are missing.

Edwards was said to be happy to just be drafted really.

Solid 3+D prospect at SF. Kessler's all-around game is somewhat weaker than the 3+D prospects taken in the first round. In a sense that he is not as good of a rebounder and perhaps a slightly worse shooter. But he still fits the definition very well with impressive man-to-man D and ability to hit from downtown, in particular ATB. Durability is a concern though
Congrats to season 16 ASL champion SoulKey. For the Swarm!

Looks like an average 3&D prospect from my scout

Quality 3, quality perimeter defense, can't really do much else at an average level. Pretty safe bet to remain in the CSL, but probably just hangs out on the end of the rotation most of the time.
