Finally Sotto has been drafted. I guess in a way he is similar to Dick - lottery potential but some major red flags. I considered him briefly at 23 as the talent is there. He should be able to come in and make a strong contribution for a few minutes. He is Mr Glass personified so his coach will need to manage his workload
Congrats to season 16 ASL champion SoulKey. For the Swarm!

I'm excited to see what he can do on offense. His durability and defense is horrible, but this guy might be able to come in and average double digits in low minutes.

Too many red flags

I’m a NBA Bulls fan (oh god they suck) and used to watch Andre Drummond who averages almost 9/9 in 17 minutes. But first, he plays every game, second, he doesn’t foul on every possession, and even with that massive stat line of almost 20/20 per 36, he’s still a net neutral (-0,2)

Sotto will be unplayable because everything he adds offensively, he’ll give up fouling on the other side. If he doesn’t foul, putrid defense will also hurt his case (while Drummond is Bulls best interior defender). If nothing happens and he somehow operates a miracle and doesn’t foul and contest well, he’ll get hurt while doing so. Poor guy.

(insert obligatory red flags comment)

That said, Sotto has the talent to alter a game in just a few minutes with his offensive arsenal.

Both Sotto and his opposing defender are going to be in foul trouble as soon as he steps on the court lol

I am really, really surprised Sotto lasted this long even with all his issues on defense. Efficient 7'3 scoring big men who can rebound do not grow on trees. I like him in a 15-20mpg role packing a scoring punch off the bench, similar to the role of irl Montrezl Harrell, but scaled back a little more because he'll foul out before he gets to 25 minutes.

I almost drafted him myself much earlier than this, but couldn't justify having Lofton, Sotto, and Knight on the same roster lol

I really considered him at 22, but it looked like he has that Jontay Porter durability

yep, durability is what scared me away at 23. His role is probably at best as a 2nd/3rd big due to that low durability. You know that you'll need somebody to step in for him when he is often injured and that player needs to be quite good. Then the question is why you even need Kai if a good player is there already. If he can stay healthy he is lottery talent

what do they say about ability and availability?

His DI is sooooo bad he will end up giving up everything he gets offensively. It’s not like he can’t just defend, that would be okay if he didn’t foul every possession
