Round 1 - Pick 8 - Orlando Magic

Post by WillyJakkz »

With Pick #8 the Orlando Magic select:

F Scottie Barnes Florida State

Although there is another highly touted player on the Board the Magic select the powerfully stout Scottie Barnes. He was demon to guard in the college ranks and is expected to transition into the pros equally as easy.

The intention is to implement him into the post alongside C Mark Williams however there are rumors this selection may have been made for another team.

We will have to see if that rumor is accurate.

Well regardless if Barnes stay in Orlando, this is a great pick for the draft position. Barnes is going to be a long time force in the league.

I liked him and was thinking of giving up the goods to jump up, but decided against it.

Should be a really good PF in this league, think he will do well if he stays or gets shipped out

Terrific rebounder, and a nice volume interior scorer, but needs a lot of work on his outside shot. Defense is versatile but years away from being great. Very solid player overall but doesn't fit Orlando at all, so I hope they got a good return out of this.

The Raptor! One of my favourite players in real life, I hope he translates into the CSL Willy, regardless of if you keep him or trade him.

My hope is that Willy got a great return for that guy, because he will be good.

Seems pretty solid. I had to be careful as sometimes the NBA hype clouds how he could be in the CSL haha.

This is the guy i hoped falls at 12. Terrific inside operator and great rebounder.

Strong pick at 8, Barnes is an amazing inside scorer and elite rebounder though still very raw. He will be able to be a dominating presence offensively for you and his defense is very underrated. While not a stopper, he will get his share of blocks and steals. Another player with exceptional foul drawing ability.
Congrats to season 16 ASL champion SoulKey. For the Swarm!

Hope you all are right about Barnes, he seems really really good especially if he can be Stanley Johnson Jr. Prime SJJ was a beast!

@kw may have to make him fit if it's a possibility.

Hopefully he comes through Cleveland before his career is over. Would love to have a Seminole on the roster. Good pick.
