just my 2 cents, don't hate

1. Fine with a 2-day sim but please do sims even on weekends (or atleast during Saturday sims). I know it's a lot of work for the Simmer but an alternate SImmer could easen up the load maybe. And to add, after trade deadline maybe we can do that 3-day sim (no trading is so boring, sorry)
2. i'm not too familiar with Discord as well but i prefer we stay as is. I'm all for engine switch except for FBB please.
4. Injuries are part of the game so leave it as is
5. I'm fine with the CBA. Maybe, just maybe be more relax on the salary cap issues on trading lol
6. I'm all for shorten the offseason. We can give the Simmer some break after the Post Season (about a week or two) i think but as soon as Offseason starts, there shouldn't been additional rest in between.

Can I add one which has been a key point of contention for myself?

This is not bashing the draft team. The Drafts have been so lackluster and wasted yrs of fun by not including big name/ known players.

I hated the last nepotism draft. Let's cut the gimmick drafts out and get the NBA counterparts here sooner.

Took way too long to get Jalen Green in the Draft as well as others that I can't think of at the moment.

No Jaylen Brown sucks and omitting him in the NBA redo Draft headlined by Draymond Green was a real head scratcher.

And I don't care if they aren't as good as their NBA counterparts for the most part (as long as they don't suck) just have em in here.

That by far is what kills it and I'd presume a turn off to potential GM's by having a team full of guys who they don't really recognize.

That is my opinion however.

With the engine, having run the NLL for a long time, I don't really consider the engine choice a problem. We had open teams like any league but we got users in the end and changed engines after a set number of seasons but due to features or improvements, not recruitment. The issue is giving money to Gorski every time as not everyone will pay again although there are ways I hear to get newer versions...

I don't know how to explain how much I hate discord but if we ever moved to that, I'd absolutely be done. I tried joining another league a while back and it's a convoluted mess of crap. Trying to find anything or having a 100 new replies about different things in the same area was the worst. Reference, new posts, clean areas, threads, it works so much better with forums. Each to their own of course.

Hard against going to 3 day sims too. We already lose control on a number of sims due to 2 days and I think if the reason behind it is shortening the season overall, that can easily be done over the off season. That being said, some of the oldest sim leagues I know of or have crossed paths with sim at a relentless pace (10 day sims, etc) and plow through seasons. They have interested people and although not for me... at all.. I'm sure the length of our seasons do turn some people off.

Maybe an FAQ section or a new user forum just with basics explaining everything so it doesn't overwhelm? I'm a massive fan of complex systems though haha and used to create complex systems for extensions, FA, CBA, spending, revenue, etc, so I like it but I understand it can understand it can overwhelm a new user. Maybe some GM's can be the known 'good guys who can help' and new GM's can always ask them anything in the beginning. Not a buddy system but sometimes having someone easily approachable and nice can help.

On complex systems, does trading more help with interest? Maybe loosening up some financial aspects when it comes to trading can help? Not when it comes to overspending though. I think that's important otherwise no one ever lets go a player if they can just overspend and pay them.

Josh hit the nail on the head though. First simple exercise is recruitment and generating some interest somehow. This is the only league I'm in at the moment but I'm sure a number of us are in other leagues and can reach out to some people. Forum posts, sports forums, friends, anything we can think of can help generate some more interest. Whether this ties to an engine change though? How are the 25 forums for activity and leagues?

The Champion Sim League

The CSL is a long-running online basketball league using the Draft Day Sports Pro Basketball engine (currently version PB22, but looking to upgrade soon to PB25 or 26).

With 20+ seasons of history, a friendly community, custom draft classes based on real life players and our very own created web app for scouting, the league gives a realistic feel of managing your team.

Owning the game is NOT a requirement! We have plenty of helpful GMs that are willing to input depth charts and strategy changes for you or you can use our manual form to have our Simmers do it as well! Aside from that, DDS HTML exports to our website every useful information from the game itself so you can have access to the best data and stats available even if you don't own a copy of the game.

At this time, we have two available teams, both contenders even without the guidance of a GM, in the Brooklyn Nets and the Dallas Mavericks, but a few more teams could become available at any time, with different projects rather than contending.
