Future All Star Game Format

Post by emplep7 »

Hey all,

So we rolled out a new ASG format last year (thanks to Greenbears suggesting) and will be moving back to the standard ASG voting system again this year, but wanted to start a discussion to see how we would manage these moving forward since I think it would be good to mix it up.

Below are the proposed options below, but I am no way set on these being the only options (feel free to add other proposals within this post).

Option A: No Changes
- We stick to what has worked in the past and quit changing things already. League votes for starters, reserves, and wild cards and each team is set standard strats and DCs and the game is simmed and posted.

Option B: A GM Twist
- We continue to vote the same way, however, the top GM in each conference once the all star break hits gets to set a DC/strat ahead of the game.

Option C: NBA-lite
- The league votes on starters only and then the top (or top two) GMs in each conference pick the reserves. The top GMs would manage the roster and set a DC/strat ahead of the game.

Option D: Remove the Conference Battle
- The league votes on starters, reserves, and wildcards but the top (or top two) GMs from each conference get to draft their team (regardless of conference). Top record gets the 1st pick and it goes in snake order. These GMs would also set the DC/strat for the game.

I am not going to make this a vote yet until we discuss it here more, but feel free to drop any ideas here.

Thanks guys for the opinions. I'll create a poll soon, but just wanted to see what the thoughts were first before putting it out there.
