Options can only be picked up during the players' first year in the league. After the first year, options cannot be picked up for players.

Didn't find it in the CBA. Where is it coming from?

That rule is hard coded into the game. A player's third year option may be picked up prior to the start of the player's second season. This needed to have been done before training camp.

But if I remember well, I should be able to do it before next Free Agency then? If not does he has at least the RFA status?

I checked the NBA rules and it said that option need to be activated before the 31st of October of the last year of contract. But looks like DDS development didn't follow this rule...
Could the 3rd and 4th year of Ulis be added manually as I ask for it before start of the season and I didn't find anywhere in the CBA a specific rule about rookie options?
Salaries would be 1,401,807 and 2,158,782
I also understand the RFA status would disappear but that's fine. Thanks for feedback

Alright, I looked into this and discussed it with the admin team:

It's always been that you need to pick up a (1st round) player's rookie option before the final year of his contract if you would like him to play with your team beyond that season. I.e. you need to pick up the player's 3rd year rookie option before his 2nd year, and you need to pick up the player's 4th year rookie option before his 3rd year. So the question I guess is "when does that final year officially start?"

Now, the game lists in the "Key dates" section that September 30th is the deadline to decide on rookie options. That's immediately before training camp, so in order for the game to recognize it, you would have needed to pick up the option BEFORE we sim ahead to training camp (essentially by the end of free agency). I did peruse the CBA and it is listed in section 6 of the CBA (Important dates). The CBA lists July 30th as the rookie option deadline, but that appears to be a typo, as it should read September 30th to match the game. However, you missed both dates. And seeing as the date listed in the CBA is before the actual in-game date (and is therefore a more conservative date), the typo is actually harmless in this case (and potentially helpful). It would be like a friend telling you that a store closes at 9pm, even though it actually closes at 10pm. So even if you shoot to get to the store before it closes at 9pm, if you accidentally show up a few minutes late (let's say ~9:20pm), you still have time because the store doesn't actually close until 10pm. Now if it were the other way around, we'd have a problem (i.e. if the CBA listed October 30th as the deadline instead), and we'd definitely work with you to make up for the error. But it's not the case here, and you missed both dates anyway, so we're going to have to respectfully decline manually adding the 3rd and 4th year rookie options onto Ulis's contract.

Hopefully that makes sense. I tried to be as in-depth as possible to explain our decision, but in essence: there are rookie option deadlines listed both in-game and in the CBA, but you missed both of those dates. Training camp was posted on January 10th, and you made this post 6 days later. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but it is listed in both the CBA and in-game. I get that it was an innocent error on your part, but we have to keep with the CBA when possible.

Thanks for the feedback and explanation. I missed the section 6 in the CBA so I agree with the decision.
I will try to keep Ulis via normal contract.
