L vs. BKN

First game of the season against a powerhouse and the reigning CSL champions! Ayton put up an unbelievable 49/14 w/ 2 blks. The East goes through Rizzo's Nets. For us, we like what we see and net more data in order to come to any conclusions but if NAW can be a consistent scorer and Little can put up 9 APG throughout the season we'll be happy. Diallo looks good as well.

DET 111 || 16/37 3pt | 20 stocks | 4 TOs
@ ATL 105 || 43.5% FG | +15 rebs

Pistons
V. Krejci: 19 pts | 11 asts | 5/8 3pt
J. Johnson: 22 pts | 4 stocks | 7/15 fg
I. Stewart: 16 pts | 15 rebs

ATL
N. Marshall: 15 pts | 5/9 fg
K. Murray: 14 pts | 4/7 3pt
R. Perry: 10 pts | 16 rebs

The Pistons defeated the Atlanta Hawks in Atlanta on opening night. Detroit was outshot (43-38%) and outrebounded (-15) by Atlanta but were +11 in the TO battle and hit 9 more threes. The Hawks were also not helped by their 18 missed free throws, though that may just be life with Gyorgy Goloman.

The Pistons were carried in part by double-doubles from Vit Krejci and Isaiah Stewart. Third-year Forward Jalen Johnson led all scorers with 22 points in 23 minutes of playing time.

Pistons are off next sim before their home opener against the Pacers.

Image
Isaiah Stewart had a good first game as a Power Forward with 16 pts, 15 rebs, and a +14 net rating.

So I should look at a 99-81 loss on the road an d say; "Things to fix", but that isn't bad. We did a great job in that 1st quarter and once Roby was off, it was a free for all. A 5-20 shooting performance from Cade should worry me, but a few games in and tweaks to him; will fix it. My biggest thing with Cade is just how much he does; I think thats the biggest importance here. So, Roby more playing time and Garland should get more minutes and I think we have a chance at some wins, but I'm impressed!

93-102 loss vs PHI.

Reddish: 22pts, 3reb, 4ast, 3stl, 8-13 FG, 4-6 3P
Lawson: 11pts, 12reb, 2blk [Rockets debut]
Gant: 11pts, 3reb, 4ast, 3stl, 3-7 3P [Rockets debut]
Gates: 10pts, 6reb, 3ast, 2stl
Lofton: 10pts, 5reb (14min)
Bridges: 5pts, 2-5 FG [Rockets debut]
Mane: 4pts, 2-4 FG (13min) [Rockets debut]

Well, definitely would've liked to get more offensively. MJ was a total non-factor in this game, and nobody took the assignment of guarding Maxey, who scored 27 points on 97 TS% and simply couldn't be stopped from 3.

However, given Rh0xxy's teams are always extremely stingy when it comes to the possessions battle (including rebounds, steals, and limiting turnovers), I'm happy to see the Rockets holding even there (81 FGA 21 FTA to Philly's 76 FGA 29 FTA), despite Gant being pretty loose with the ball. Our shooting should generally be much better than this.

We get our next chance on Tuesday vs Jovic and the Hornets.

Very nice 18 point road win over Portland to stay the season. It will likely change game to game but tonight was the monk and windler show as Monk did Monk things exploding for 40 points while Windler was second in scoring chipping in 19 from the bench.

Home opener against charlotte tonight.
FINALLY a logical HC Rule our work is done

Nice! Off to a good start with a road win at Houston. Maxey continued his hot shooting following an impressive Playoff performance and recent training camp.

Good game, Kyrus.

We start the season on the wrong foot in a home loss aginst the Pistons.

Only good part was that Reaves and Murray got a solid start in their pro careers.
If we want to show any progress this season, Perry and Okoro have to get back in game shape soon.

Miami and Boston next on the road, that is very likely a season where we have to try and climb the standings from the bottom.

Good start as we beat the Bucks at home 113-90. Of course in typical Wizards fashion Tatum picks up an injury and will miss next game...

Bender 15 pts, 8 rebs, 10 asts, 2 blks
Tatum 25 pts, 8 rebs, 3 asts, 1 stl
Birutis 12 pts, 14 rebs, 1 ast, 2 blks
Alvarado 20 pts, 3 rebs, 6 asts, 3 stks
Mitchell 22 pts, 3 rebs, 3 asts

Toronto Raptors - 101

J. Patton - 21 pts, 7 reb, 4 ast, 2 blk
H. Diallo - 18 pts, 4 reb
N. Alexander-Walker - 14 pts, 5 reb, 1 stl, 1 blk
T. Welsh - 12 pts, 10 reb, 3 blk
M. Young - 11 pts, 8 reb, 1 blk

Brooklyn Nets - 122

D. Ayton - 49 pts, 14 reb, 2 blk
R. Williams - 23 pts, 10 reb, 5 ast, 2 blk
A. Vezenkov - 12 pts, 3 reb, 1 stl
S. Gilgeous-Alexander - 10 pts, 7 reb, 3 ast, 1 stl, 2 blk

The defending champs open the season at home against one of thier Atlantic Division foes in the Toronto Raptors. After the ring ceremony and banner raising, it was time defend their title and show the CSL that they were a legit contender to be the first repeat champions in league history.

With the reigning MVP and Defensive Player of the Year on the floor, there was no questioning why DeAndre Ayton was named best player in the league last season. The big man got going early and it was clear that the Raptors had zero answers to stop him. Coach Reggie Evans made it clear that Brooklyn was going to make a statement and force-feed Ayton the rock. The rest of the team filled in around him, but DominAyton went on to pour in a league season-high 49 points on 23-36 shooting. He added in his standard 14 boards (7 offensive) and two blocks as there wasn't a facet of the interior game that he didn't influence on both sides of the floor.

The big difference in the margin came in the turnover department where the Raptors had 12 to just three from the Nets. Of the dozen turnovers the Raptors had, 10 of them were live-ball steals for the Nets leading to easy transition buckets for Brooklyn.

Fast or slow, the Nets can win in a variety of ways.

Looks like we won against the Suns. I won't be home for a few more days so we will just have to run with the CPU DC a bit longer

Denver – 107
Portland – 89

POR
Okongwu – 12 pts (6-9 FG), 11 reb, 2 blks
Samar – 18 pts (6-12 FG, 3-8 3PA), 4 ast, 3 reb
Fultz – 15 pts (5-13 FG, 5-10 3PA), 5 ast (1 TO), 3 reb

DEN
Monk – 40 pts (13-19 FG, 11-15 3PA), 5 ast (0 TO)
Antetokounmpo – 13 pts (6-10 FG), 12 reb, 3 stl
Windler – 19 pts (7-15 FG, 3-8 3PA), 6 ast (0 TO), 3 reb

Well Monk had the game of his life and couldn’t miss. 40 points on 99% TS is just wow, but that’s how it goes sometimes for streaky shooters. OO had a strong game for us with an efficient double-double while shutting down KAT. Samar also had a great game off the bench to lead our second unit. Really nice career debut for him. Turnovers were ultimately our undoing (ignoring Monk going God mode) as we nearly doubled the Nuggets in TOs.

We start the season with a loss at Washington. I knew it was going to take us time to find the right setup with so many new players, so not worried yet.

Brown: 22 games, 5 assists, 5 steals, 3 rebounds.
Williams: 10 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 assist, 1 block.

McBride picks up an injury in his first pro game ... and without even stepping on the court.

Defense 1st starting lineup played very well against the Memphis Grizzlies but fell short in Nash's coaching debut

Walker Texas Ranger w/ 6blks
Ant Man w/ 27pts
LaMelo w/ 10asts

Barnes and Alpy looking like best buds off the bench combining for 31pts

Valiant effort and a good sign
