Pelicans on the Move?

With the recent signing of new General Manager Ramcus, the Pelicans and Ramcus are going to have a lot of decisions to make over the summer. Will they blow it all up and rebuild, or will they throw away all their assets to try and build a contender around superstar Anthony Davis?
Ramcus, an inexperienced GM, has voiced before that what he wants most is to be in contention for the CSL championship, but with the current roster he's going to have a lot of work ahead of him to get to being contenders.
Ramcus had this to say for himself:
"I am overjoyed to be the new General Manager for the New Orleans Pelicans. This is a once-in-a-lifetime honour many dream of achieving. To be able to be the General Manager for such a storied franchise, and such a legendary superstar like Anthony Davis, this is truly a dream come true. Unfortunately, as of right now I cannot reveal any plans for the summer, but I can tell you this: This summer is going to be an exciting one! Thank you for your time, I must go now. I have "general manager things" to do now."
As reporters stormed closer to try and get their questions out, a team of bodyguards escorted out the new General Manager of the New Orleans Pelicans. What will happen over this summer? What are his plans for Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans franchise? Only time will tell.

You need to get that team of bodyguards to protect Anthony Davis during games so he stops getting hurt haha

Seriously though, best of luck with New Orleans and I’m looking forward to see how you turn the franchise around!

Good luck! If you do trade AD don't take any low ball offers! Ask around before you take the leap. A lot of guys around here who will give honest opinions.

Last gm lowered Davis' value a lot. Dude now has the Westbrook syndrome and is 30+. I think the window for franchise changing trade value passed

This. It will be the most important trade you make because outside of AD, this is a mostly aging roster of role players and one of the worst team situations in the entire league.

If I can move Kyrie for an aging superstar, one lotto pick, and 2 1sts then A.D. should go for more period as he has at least 4 more seasons as a top 5 player. Plus this injury crap should end with the 19's engine.b

Well you found a taker. Who should be taker for AD right now that has a similar package to offer?

This

I would only trade him, if a top package is coming back. He is still more than capable to build around. Don't know the cap situation in detail, but I think some of the contracts come off the books soon.

As Josh said, listen around and ask the most experienced GM's for advice. The right package can be a nice start for a rebuild, a trash package can set up the franchise for years.

You have two big contracts coming off your books in knight and marble ..the must do is make a trade block if you decide to trade Davis ..or at least field possable offers to see what you get ..dont settle for anything less then a superstar coming back .

Take your time don’t rush ..

Agreed. With Davis aging and being injury prone, I don't see him going for a lot. Kyrie doesn't get injured so he fetched more. I mean I have the beast SJJ and I'm not even sure I would trade him for AD at this point in their careers.

Definitely don't rush into any major trades and be sure to get the opinion of GMs you can trust (esp ones that aren't involved in any trade talks for AD). This team has won in the past with AD leading the way and I think its possible to do again as hes the most dominant player in the league.

Good luck man!

Just send AD this way, he wants to be here.

Pretty sure I offered the old GM DeAndre Ayton and a host of other players and picks for Anthony Davis. Not sure if I would do that now with AD suffering yet another injury and Ayton getting that +10 boost but I think it's going to take a serious offer to pry AD out of NO.

That was a foolish offer. I offered Smith+Dozier+picks for Ayton. old GM shouldve been coming to me for advice he'd have ayton and allen as a cornerstone.

That's a damn good offer for Ayton if true. I really like Smith and Dozier. After that boost though Ayton might be a game changer though so it worked out for Rizzo.

Yeah, depending on the picks being offered that was a great offer for Brooklyn since they already have a good front court.

That Carmelo Anthony avy NOP signature is completely throwing me off

Be wary of biased opinions if you get GM suggestions as some have ulterior motives. Ultimately it's your team and do what you feel you want your team vision to be with the players etc you want vs how someone else would run your team because you're the guy who has to GM it.

Good luck and welcome to the League!

Goodluck, Davis is a piece that could net a huge haul but I think I'd shop the rest of the roster first and see if you can get a #2 to pair with AD.

Nope. Only way he gets a #2 is if he renounces everyone and clears max space in FA. The rest of the roster isn't going to attract anywhere near enough interest for a #2 - not even if he literally traded the entire rest of the team for that #2.
