Very first All Star game?

Post by Andrewu91 »

The Oklahoma City Thunder are rallying and petitioning the league to make Michael Kidd-Gilchrist to the All Star Game this season. He is posting his very best numbers of his career, on a talented team. It could be argued that he is the Thunder's best player this season.

The Number's:

15.7ppg
8.4rpg
2.1apg
1.5.spg
1.2bpg
0.8 turnovers a game
58.8% from the field

When the Thunder sent out two firsts round picks, Justin Anderson, Terrance Jones and Ricky Rubio, they were only expecting one All Star player in return. But it is shocking to see they might have received two All Star players in return.

When talking to the General Manager of the Thunder, Andrew was quoted as saying "When I made the deal, yes I was expecting Eric Bledsoe an All Star, and a solid role player in Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. But this season, he is one of the main reasons we have the best win percentage in the entire CSL, the most wins in the history of my resume. He is doing a fantastic job and it would be pretty cool to see "the Kidd's" hard work, finally paying off. Let's continue to see this young 29 year old full fill his potential and get to the All Star Game.

I'm seeing KAT Austin Solomon Davis MKG Durant Okaro all deserving so he definitely has a chance although it may come down to him or his teammate SJJ to represent OKC in the frontcourt

He's definitely playing some very good basketball for you right now. I wonder how his advanced defensive metrics are looking so far?

Most likely. Stanley has been there, so seeing someone else on my team represent would be dope

I can't remember if we mimic the NBA's all star format (2 backcourt, 3 frontcourt) or if we use the 2 guard, 2 forward, 1 center format, but either way I can't see MKG being voted into the ASG.

Forwards: Kevin Durant, Isaiah Austin, Khris Middleton
Centers: Anthony Davis, Kristaps Porzingis, KAT, DeMarcus Cousins

I'd put all those guys easily ahead of MKG. I'd then also include, in the same conversation as MKG, Kenneth Faried, Richard Solomon, Otto Porter, Jahlil Okafor, Montrezl Harrell, Derrick Favors, not to mention your own SJJ. Not saying MKG is below all those guys, but that's the range he would be in. That is a lot of competition for a frontcourt spot, of which there are only 6 guaranteed spots (or 4 if we use the forward designation).

I never vote losing team players into the all Star game. Any stat padding players can put up numbers on a losing team. That's just facts. But how many players can lead a team to the best record in the CSL? Not many. It's your opinion though..
