Just a few games in the season and the new face of the franchise went down with a fractured elbow. Injuries happen all the time in basketball, but Atlanta made the deal already with the knowledge that they may have to monitor Exum’s minutes and playing style.
Doesn’t matter now, broken is broken and the team must find ways to stay competitive.
Obviously the new regime has not an easy time rebuilding this franchise.
A quick statement from GM Flaming Homer gives some insight:
“This news hit me like a lightning, got the news early in the morning and was not even able to have a frustration beer until the evening … boy, that just sucks. But that’s not the time to be frustrated, decisions have to be made, meetings to be organized and so on. And you know what’s funny? The first two weeks in our offices were very quiet, I would not say boring but lacking some action. After the broken elbow was confirmed, it turned in a mad house, almost like it is already trading deadline.
So we do our job, are on the phones and try to get the strategy down for the next two months, just doing the job like all the players on the Hawks roster.”

Ok, that's not very creative, but at least get some positive out of our "vacationer"

Re: Atlanta Hawks – The Exum case
Tough to say... on one hand you could wait it out as is, or move Whiteside for a quick reload til Exum comes back. You could even move Exum for competitive guys or a stud to pair with Hassan and continue to compete.
