Hornets retool bench
HORNETS RETOOL BENCH, ACQUIRE RAPTORS TRIO, DRAFT CHOICES
The Charlotte Hornets made their first trade of their new Hornets era yesterday, when they sent Ramon Sessions, Gary Neal and Josh McRoberts to Toronto. In return, former Raptors Austin Daye, Patrick Patterson, John Salmons and a bunch of second rounders were sent back to Charlotte.
'We are very pleased to get Austin and Patric for our team, two young players that we've been following recently and that we wanted to add to our rotation and future plans. Salmons will also help backing up Henderson as our first SG of the bench this year.'
'On the other hand, it was sad to see Ramon, Gary and Josh go, and we wish them nothing but the best with the Raptors. With Ridnour playing backup PG, we couldn't afford having a player of Sessions caliber barely having minutes. Meanwhile, Patterson will take McRoberts minutes as a backup PF, and Salmons will fill Neal's void at SG. Finally, with Daye we'll fill the hole we have at the backup SF position.'
Also as a part of the deal, the Raptors sent three secound rounders to the Hornets: 2014 OKC 2nd, 2014 SAC 2nd and 2015 TOR 2nd round picks. As a young team as we are, we love the idea of getting some young role players to fill the roster from any second rounders. We have a lot of confidence in our scoutings, and we realize there's usually some talent coming out this kind of picks, specially if they become early 2nd rounders.

Re: Hornets retool bench
I like the Patrick Patterson pickup (betcha can't say that fast 3 times lol) but his shooting should be great spacing for Al Jeff.

Re: Hornets retool bench
McRoberts was pretty solid for a backup, but I hope Patterson could be a even better fit for our team. We'll see how he pans out.
