2034 Season Awards - LEAGUE VOTED
Thanks to everyone for participating! 22 GM's voted this year.
*Note: 5 points given to a 1st place vote, 3 points given to a 2nd place vote, and 1 point given to a 3rd place vote. First place votes are in parentheses.
Additionally, only those selections who received a First Place vote (OR) at least 10 total points are displayed below.
MVP
Winner: Luka Doncic, NY - 78 pts (13)
Runner Up: Zion Williamson, DAL - 56 pts (5)
3rd place: DeAndre Ayton, BKN - 39 pts (4)
Others receiving first place votes or at least 10 total points: None
Notes: Every year it seems as though it's the same 3 guys! This year though, we see Luka and Zion flip at the top. Doncic led the Knicks to a league best 62-20 record while Zion's Mavericks struggled this season. Doncic put up a very similar stat line to last season with 32/10/6 per game, but saw a slight uptick in efficiency. Meanwhile, Zion was also even more efficient this season but saw his PPG drop by 5.
DPoY
Winner: DeAndre Ayton, BKN - 51 pts (9)
Runner Up: Walker Kessler, ORL - 47 pts (5)
3rd place: Rui Hachimura, CHA - 47 pts (5)
Others receiving first place votes or at least 10 total points: Bruno Fernanda, MEM - 12 (2)
Notes: Once again, it's the same top 3 as last season but we see Kessler who averaged nearly 5 blocks per game jump up to #2 over Rui. DeAndre Ayton takes the DPOY award home for the SIXTH season in a row.... SIX! Nothing else to say here.
Rookie of the Year
Winner: Ron Harper Jr., OKC - 71 pts (10)
Runner Up: Malik Ellison, UTA - 54 pts (8)
3rd place: Ryan Mutombo, IND - 25 pts (1)
Others receiving first place votes or at least 10 total points: Alex Sarr, LAL - 18 (2)
Notes: DDS gave this award to Ellison, but it looks like the CSL GMs lean towards some high numbers for Harper Jr. The undersized 23 year old forward was drafted 3rd overall by the Thunder and had a monster season. He only started 31 times this season, but averaged 20.1 ppg, 7.7 rpg, 3.8 apg, 1.1 bpg, and 1.4 spg showing his well-rounded talents. Where he lost some votes was probably in his efficiency, as he shot sub 40% from the field. Ellison meanwhile played for a better performing Jazz team and averaged 13.2 ppg and 8.0 rpg, while shooting 50% from the field.
Most Improved Player
Winner: Naji Marshall, ATL - 39 (7)
Runner Up: Tremont Waters, SAS - 13 (2)
3rd place: Mouhamadou Gueye (PHI) and Walker Kessler, ORL - 11 (1)
Others receiving first place votes or at least 10 total points: Victor Wembanyama, ORL - 11 (0), Austin Reaves, WAS - 8 (1), Nadir Hifi, GSW - 8 (1), Alex Antetokounmpo, SAS - 8 (1), GG Jackson, POR - 8 (1), Bam Adebayo, SAS - 5 (1), RJ Barrett, CHI - 5 (1), Kofi Cockburn, SAC - 5 (1), Sekou Doumbouya, UTA - 5 (1), Kostas Antetokounmpo, DEN - 5 (1)
Notes: Marshall made a big jump this year for the Hawks who dealt with some big injuries to other key players. Right before hitting restricted free agency, Marshall has set himself up wonderfully for a big pay day by averaging 25.5 ppg in his fourth season. Marshall scores efficiently, including 88% from the line and 43% from behind the arc.
6th Man of the Year
Winner: Jarrett Allen, MIA - 64 (10)
Runner Up: Trae Young, SAS - 54 (4)
3rd place: Trey Murphy III, POR - 38 (5)
Others receiving first place votes or at least 10 total points: Isaac Okoro, ATL - 14 (0), Dylan Windler, DEN - 11 (2), Kris Wilkes, GSW, 9 (1)
Notes: Trae and Trey could not overtake Mr. Allen for this one. Allen averaged 16.0 ppg, 9.9 rpg, and 2.1 bpg for the Heat in his first season as a non-starter. The talent is clearly there for the 31 year old, but the coaching staff in Miami decided to have him come off the bench. It worked wonders for Allen taking advantage of other bench players.
GM of the Year
Winner: Andrei, MEM - 40 (6)
Runner Up: Flaming Homer, ATL - 21 (3)
3rd place:Jestor, NOP - 18 (2)
Others receiving first place votes or at least 10 total points: wms02a, SAS - 17 (2), bt, SAC - 16 (2), TheTwoWallaces, DET - 14 (0), Marcos_Beck, CHI - 12 (1), GreenBear, POR - 10 (1), Stockton12, UTA - 6 (1), WillyJakkz, ORL - 5 (1), Toasty, BKN - 5 (1), emplep7, OKC - 5 (1)
Notes: It was closer this season as we saw a variety of first place votes handed out. In the end, Andrei from the Memphis Grizzlies takes home the hardware after leading his team to a 54-28 record (+8 wins from last season). The acquisition of Kaiser Gates and Nathan Knight from Houston certainly helped solidify this win!
Coach of the Year
Winner: bt, SAC - 36 (4)
Runner Up: Flaming Homer, ATL - 28 (3)
3rd place:Andrei, MEM - 27 (3)
Others receiving first place votes or at least 10 total points: GreenBear, POR - 24 (2), TheTwoWallaces, DET - 17 (2), Toasty, BKN - 15 (3), wms02a, SAS - 13 (2), mtgr1, MIL - 6 (1), Dylan, CHA - 5 (1)
Notes: bt from Sacramento picks up some familiar hardware here after leading the Kings to a 62-20 record. The Kings were fairly dominant all season with a +10 point differential. It was a close vote here, with many well deserving candidates!
Congrats to all of the winners this year.
Thanks again to everyone for voting!

Re: 2034 Season Awards - LEAGUE VOTED
No love for Nikola Topic for ROTY is crazy. Dude had an efficient rookie season as what was effectively a full time starter.
Congratz to all the winners though, well deserved overall.

Yeah, Ayton just had a historic DPOY season with that 0.73 PA/SF to go along with 10rpg, and 3.5 stocks lol.

Re: 2034 Season Awards - LEAGUE VOTED
Congrats to all and to KG for guiding us to 62 wins with a +10 differential even though all for nothing haha.
Ayton is hands down a GOAT contender, just amazing. I still think Kessler should have won the DPOY but like Gary said, that PA/SF is just nuts by Ayton.
Andrei well deserved GM winner too with that Gates acquisition.

Good to see Naji gets his accolades now he can bother me with his salary wishes.
#2 in GMoY and CoY, thanks guys.
I don't think its really deserved this year. The offseason was not optimal and we got lucky we found a working combination cloase to the end of the year, at least good for some better play in the playoffs.
Congrats to all winners. Great season.

Congrats to the winners. J-Mac would've gotten 6MOTY if it wasn't for that arbitrary 26mpg cutoff. Dude put up 18.5ppg in 21mpg on 26.6 PER.
