2031 FA Best of the rest (Not much left)

Post by Silogical »

here is the full list viewtopic.php?f=19&t=16106

1. Marvin Bagley - 100M player in most years but this year 80M is fair. I dont see anyone stealing Bagley from OKC
2. J Gant - My type of player Id put him #1 but i think most would put him #2 or lower
3. L Birutis - Plays way above his ratings.
4. P Williams - Big drop from 3 to 4(stats wise), Willaims takes 4 because hes way younger than the others in this range.

5. J Collins - He would be at birutis level if his scoring was a little higher.
6. T Hlinason - Dennis did pretty good finding someone this good at 24
7. M Young - Very good but old

3.5 stars in no perticular order
P Achiuwa - I was never a fan, maybe in the right system he can carry an offense
J Morris - Could be useful if his shots are reduced

3 stars in no perticular order
V Brodziansky
M Brown - Underated shot blocker
J Isaac - Elite defense as a wing, but as a big man blocks are lacking
T Bradley - Underated bigman, needs to be next to a big time rebounder.
K Knox - Not getting any minutes but there was a lot of hype around this guys offense for awhile
J Jessup - One of the best shooters in the league
N Pelle
Y Yoosman - terrible, makes the list on the hype he built up
T Waters

Late Additions
Kilian Tillie
Collin Sexton

You're definitely underestimating how much Gant is valued across the league. Maybe he used to be undervalued by many due to his seemingly pedestrian box score, but people have gotten around to understanding how good he is. If I ever get the opportunity, I'd love to have him on my team in the future.

I like that this list exists, although I disagree where a number of the players fall on this list

Great article Silos, quick and to the point. I like how technical you are, and I agree with your list in terms of how you value each remaining free agent. Well done.

surprised you dont agree with the list, we ussually value players the same. Hard to even guess where you might disagree as i believe the top 7 are above the rest. Maybe you see Brown/Pelle/Bradley right up there with Collins?

If i was forced to pick a #8 it would probably be one of Brown/Pelle/Bradley, and maybe Waters/jessup if i was rebuilding.

It's not a bad list. I just think you left out a few names, and I disagreed with your comment about there being a big drop-off after #3.

I'll be happy to go into more detail, but not until after I'm not as big of a player in FA. If I miss out on some guys, I have a few others I plan to pivot to.

Good list of players, but there are just two I personally would pay an 8 digit number for. There are some younger player were it could be worth it, but the jury is still out on that.

If a bunch of others from this list get this kind of money, it is a nice example why no one has cap space and this contracts will clocking teams payrolls later on.

yeah i can agree maybe i got "big drop" wrong. if young was 2 yrs younger he'd be right there with birutis and i have multiple players in between them. looking at it again i can make a case for williams at 3 due to the age difference. The drop from 2-3 is prob bigger than 3-4
