For Real or just a streak?

Not only did the Knicks make the most moves this trade deadline, they dealt almost half their roster, In what feels like a move waiting to happen.

After making trades, the Knicks are on a 6 game win streak. Can it last? Is this just another "streak" like many other teams have had. Or is this roster for real?

Let's break down the starting lineup:

Luka Doncic
Terrance Ferguson
Justice Winslow
Tony Bradley
Jarrett Allen

On paper this looks like a well balanced lineup. You have Luka who can do everything, including making threes, at 52% rate. He will be matched up against opponents accordingly, depending on their lineups. You have the perfect 3 and D guy in Ferguson. Add the defensive player of the year in Winslow. Tony Bradley is no slouch either, averaging 15-7-1-1 in 4 games. And Jarrett Allen. Another big that the Knicks made into an all star type player(other was JJJ.)

You have a well balanced offense and defensive core in the starting 5.

When it comes to the bench, the Knicks added dominant post offense in Tim Williams. Udoka Azubuike is strictly a center and is a double double big at that.

In the guard/forward rotation they traded for Jawun Evans as a backup guard and forward Juwan Morgan. Juwan Morgan is a strictly a defense player that needs ton of preference work. Juwan Evans on the other hand is a playmaker and bad shot taker. He also needs preference work going forward.

Dillion Brooks was another new addition who won't see many minutes, only when needed for injuries. Same with Deng Adel.

Briskett and Mathews will continue to see minutes on the team for defense and threes.

And those Turner for Bender offers were absolutely dog shit. Been in the league long enough where I won't take a future minimum contract for a all star type. Glad I kept Bender for a real player.

Not sure but he has been a good player for this squad so far. 7 new players and 5 current will be interesting going forward.

I really like the starting five, they should be able to hang with anybody. The bench is good enough for the playoffs, with shorter rotations. I don't see many player there, who could jump in in case a starter goes down for more than 2 games. As long as the team can stay healthy they should have a say in the way to the finals.

And Luka needs a diet haha

Doncic + 4 quality defenders is a solid recipe for success, especially in the regular season. I'd be marginally worried that you guys might get a bad matchup during the playoffs, but only marginally. Doncic is still the man afterall.

I like how your finances stack up. Brushing right at the edge of the salary cap this season, and having enough money to resign Bradley and fill out the rest of the roster in the offseason as well.
