Embiid out for two months

The Milwaukee Bucks did not only lose a basketball game at Brooklyn vs the Nets, 103-89. They also had to see how their starting center, Joel Embiid, broke his elbow after playing only six minutes. After the medical tests, Embiid will miss the next two months of CSL games.

It's a tough blow. Joel was playing very good basketball, specially on the offensive end. After arriving mid-season last year, this time we had him during training camp and his fit within our offensive schemes was better. He may miss around 30 games, which is a lot, and will obviously affect our seeding for the playoffs, but at least he will be back for the postseason.

Embiid, 33, is averaging 16.8 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.0 blocks and 0.6 steals in 29.7 minutes per game, converting 51.9 % of his field goal attempts and 69.8 % of his free throws. His minutes may now go to either Mitchell Robinson or Rayshaun Hammonds, although coach Boris Diaw may opt to go smaller and test some alternative lineups. The Bucks are currently 25-16, virtually tied with the Philadelphia 76ers (24-15) for the fourth place in the Eastern Conference.

This is unfortunate, but at least it is not season ending. And the Bucks will still be able to cruise to a top 5 seed in the East.

Injury aside, Embiid is having one heck of a season in Milwaukee. His ratings look like he should probably be a 3rd big on a contending team at this point in his career, but no doubt he's balling. Seems like a fantastic fit with Milwaukee's system/roster.
