Is Garrison Mathews ready to take the starting spot from Dragan Bender? We all know Bender is the better player by far, but with his recent injury it has me thinking. Is Mathews is that guy that can take the Knicks over the top and become a legit contender.

Sure the 19-12 starting record was solid, but Injuries to everyone happened and we are now 20-21. If I were to put the starting lineup in place that got me that record, it's solid but not a #1 seed type team.

Mathews made his start for the first time today. He shot 5/10 and 4/8 from three. Imagine a guy named Luka feeding him easy threes...

Mathews will be named starter for the time being and the Knicks are happy to decline all the offers they have received for him thus far. This is his chance to show the world how good he is right now and how good he can be potentially with another +6 scoring to make his scoring 82 overall.
