The Orlando Sentinel: Kum-Ing-A Round

Post by WillyJakkz »

F Jonathan Kuminga

Magic Forward Jonathan Kuminga had a huge breakout game vs the Memphis Grizzlies and the Legion of Doom as in Grizzly SF Sekou Doumbouya.

His 23pt 12reb 3blk 1stl effort against one of the premiere SF's in the League was very encouraging to the Magic as well as Kuminga himself.

"We changed some things up and I was able to get off alot better than I usually do. KAT and Ja open the floor so much it helped me get better looks and crash the boards", Jonathan said.

G Ja Morant

Not to be outdone was G Ja Morant who had 28pts 3rebs 6asts 3stls 2blks in the rematch against MEM and G Jarrett Culver.

"I told y'all I could get 30pts whenever but it wasn't 30 but close enough. But nah Jarrett is a nice player just wanted to show I'm in the same League as him and we changed some things up cause KAT was gonna have his hands full and we got the W", said Morant.

Next up for Orlando is a tough game vs Division leading Charlotte.

In spite of your record, your team's very solid on paper. Ja Morant's really come into his own as a volume scorer(despite his efficiency), KAT is KAT, I think you just gotta find the right combination of players to rotate and your FG numbers will jump up naturally, along with your record. It doesn't help that you have guys like Dort, Okogie, and Anunoby playing serious minutes, which would obviously drag down your FG%, but the team's looking better than before, that's for sure.

This team needs spacing, a lot of it. If Kuminga is coming into his own, I'd stop messing around with guys like OG and Dort, and find the best shooters available to slot in at the other forward spot. There's quite a few just hanging out in free agency!

Yeah thanks.

Have to keep on figuring out an effective offense as we changed and we got a huge dub. Will have to see how we fare against the Hornets tonite.

KAT and Morant look like a solid duo so far. I'd expect the defense to be a bit better, as you guys have a -10 pt differential right now. Not sure how much of that is on Ball

Yeah, KAT and Morant are really ballin! Good to see.

But they need more help, Ball and Kuminga are not there yet and KAT does not have as much time as them. I as hoping that FrankyN or Gates would end up in Orlando to help this dynamic duo out.

Yeah, this team needs a better PF, and some depth help if they want to make that playoff run.

Perhaps try to play Kuminga at PF? Not sure if you had tried it. You have lots of guards who can play SF anyway.

Yeah I ran him at PF in Post Focus and he didn't do well. He's getting limited PF mins now in Grind but starting at SF and he's doing much better.

May try him at PF again in Grind to see.

Definitely some nice pieces on this team, but OG shouldnt be seeing more than 5 minutes on any team in the CSL as he hurts a team with his 32% shooting way more than his defense helps. Your team is shooting some horrible shooting percentages as a whole which is probably why your record is the way it is so it may be worth trying to make some bigger changes to get the most out of your stars. Outside of KAT, Booker, and Rivers you're entire team is shooting below 40% which is actually pretty impressive.
