Bulls for real?
The surprising start of the supposedly bottom feeder and rebuilding squad of the Chicago Bulls has made the Management thought that it could not be fluke and there could be bigger in stored for them this season. Having that in mind, the Bulls pushed for upgrades in some areas they were lacking and weak points.
Not wasting time, Chicago acquired point guard Collin Sexton from New Orleans for sweet shooter Allen Crabbe. The Pelicans needed to unload Sexton to make space for Frank Ntilikina, their recent acquisition from Detroit.
Then came the deal for a legit scorer-rebounder in Stanley Johnson Jr. and 3&D specialist Herbert Jones for talented forward Grant Williams and sophomore playmaker Kyron Cartwright as an original deal that has been revised into a 3-way deal, where Jones heading Detroit for Denzel Livingston and Stephen Zimmerman. Detroit also welcomes Isaiah Cousins in the fold.
Those moves came up quickly in just a span of one day but the Management believed they've made good decisions on those deals. The goal is to take advantage of the great start and push for the Playoffs while not jeopardizing the future.

Re: Bulls for real?
If you'd known that SJJ + Livingston were coming, would you have kept Crabbe? At first glance, his expiring contract + low-usage floor spacing seems a better fit than Sexton.
Either way, SJJ has been on a tear again this season. I imagine it'll continue in Chicago. Good luck!

SJJ and Livingston are both great adds for this team, and you still have picks for future rebuild. I think this team will be great this season, as it has the pressure ball kind of defense written all over it.

You all have had a great start so far. Some solid additions to a team looking to make the most of their season.

Re: Bulls for real?
I have no intention on playing Crabbe tbh. I have Mitchell and Morris slotted at the SG/SF spots regardless. Hoping SJJ continue as well, thanks man.TheTwoWallaces wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 1:49 pm If you'd known that SJJ + Livingston were coming, would you have kept Crabbe? Only realized this morning that you got SSJ in this overhaul
If he can carry the Bulls like he did Charlotte this year, the playoff teams better keep an eye on that team!

Re: Bulls for real?
You guys flipped for a bunch of talent overnight, so I hope the trades don't mess with the chemistry you guys have. Been a crazy turn of events for you and fellow expected bottom-feeder San Antonio, I wonder if it'll last. I'd give it until the 30 game mark to see if the team is any serious about contending, but this team has completely blown expectations out of the water already. A 9-5 record is no laughing matter, in spite of the low difference in Points for/against.

Livingston is exactly what this team needed. Very underrated acquisition there.

Re: Bulls for real?
I'm actually having a hard time giving SJJ the reign at PF as Achiuwa is also doing well especially lately. I don't want to compromise the growth of Precious as he could be one of the future cornerstones of this Franchise.Flaming Homer wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 5:56 pm Only realized this morning that you got SSJ in this overhaul

Re: Bulls for real?
Yeah we were surprisingly good this early so had to think twice before agreeing to those deals. But in the end, the goal is to improve and i think we did improved talent wise although mostly on borrowed time lolRamcus wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 7:30 pm You guys flipped for a bunch of talent overnight, so I hope the trades don't mess with the chemistry you guys have. Re: Bulls for real?
Indeed. We had to play Davion at the point despite the pedestrian handles because we had no natural competent PG but with the arrival of Liv and Sexton, there will now be aplenty of playmaker ready to contribute.

Re: Bulls for real?
I think the Bulls were near the bottom long enough it was time to get some good vets. SJJ and Livingston are great players. SJJ could carry you to the playoffs with little support. I love that you've maintained the key young guys like Precious, Mitchell and Morris for the future too.
I'm a bit surprised you're still starting Nick Richards though if you're goal is to win games.

Re: Bulls for real?
I just thought Richards could compliment SJJ more than anyone else because of his shotblocking and won't take away touches from SJJ just like what he did earlier with Grant Williams. It's a risk for sure but if it pans out i'd gladly keep Richards as serviceable low key big man.cb4raptorscb4 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 30, 2023 10:07 am I think the Bulls were near the bottom long enough it was time to get some good vets. This is story of the season for me, a contender built around young guys and you still have picks to boot. I love the new pieces you brought in and the depth is surprisingly good.
