2024 End of Season Awards - League Voted

Post by emplep7 »

Thanks to all who participated. We had 27 GMs vote with 3 GM who didn't vote so thanks again to everyone for getting these out!

*Note: 5 points given to a 1st place vote, 3 points given to a 2nd place vote, and 1 point given to a 3rd place vote. First place votes are in parentheses.

Additionally, only those selections who received a First Place vote (OR) at least 10 total points are displayed below.

MVP

Winner: Ben Simmons, MIA - 103 pts (19)
Runner Up: Anthony Davis, CHI - 35 pts (3)
3rd place: Isaiah Taylor, PHX - 20 pts (1)

Others receiving first place votes or at least 10 total points: Jabari Parker, PHI - 18 (0), DeAaron Fox, BOS - 17 (2), Terry Rozier, SAS - 17 (1), Jayson Tatum, DEN - 8 (1)

Notes: No surprise here as Miami has the best player in the league by far at their disposal (that could change with this incoming draft class). Ben matches his point toal from last year, but got himself another first place vote to add to his mantle. I'm a bit surprised players like Fox and Tatum didn't get more votes, but there is limited space with how many votes Simmons gathers.

DPoY

Winner: Okaro White, PHX - 82 pts (14)
Runner Up: Lonzo Ball, PHI - 36 pts (4)
3rd place: Frank Ntilikina, SAS - 28 pts (3)

Others receiving first place votes or at least 10 total points: Anthony Davis, CHI - 25 (3), Otto Porter, SAC - 13 (0), Terry Rozier, SAS - 12 (1), Ben Simmons, MIA - 9 (1), Victor Oladipo, CLE - 5 (1)

Notes: I've officially decided that once he retires, we will be officially changing this awards name to the Okaro White Award. Its just silly how he runs away with this every year now, but there are several young guards on this list now who will be looking to overtake him moving forward. My man OP still gets no respect though...

Rookie of the Year

Winner: Shaquille Harrison, PHX - 91 pts (16)
Runner Up: Jaren Jackson Jr, NYK - 69 pts (5)
3rd place: Kaiser Gates, DET - 23 pts (3)

Others receiving first place votes or at least 10 total points: Michael Porter Jr, IND - 16 (2), Collin Sexton, IND - 11 (1)

Notes: There is no doubt the rookie had a huge impact for the Championship winning Suns as he seemed to be the missing piece. He is the defensive stud everyone knew he was, but also added some much needed offensive efficiency this season which is what set him apart. JJJ finishes second here and the other defensive wizard in Gates rounds out the top 3.

Most Improved Player**Only 28 1st place votes - one GM forgot to select a player for 1st.

Winner: Frank Ntlikina, SAS - 43 pts (6)
Runner Up: Kyle Kuzma, MIA - 32 pts (5)
3rd place: Ika Anigbogu, WAS - 25 pts (4)

Others receiving first place votes or at least 10 total points: Trae Young, CHA - 25 (3), Jayson Tatum, DEN - 22 (3), PJ Dozier, GSW - 15 (1), Donovan Mitchell, ORL - 11 (2), Vassilis Spanoulis, CLE - 10 (1), Prezmek Karnowski, MIL - 8 (1), Bronson Koenig, UTA - 5 (1)

Notes: Frank the Tank made big leaps this year, which helped the Spurs take the massive leap that they did this season. Kuz was unstoppable for the Heat and Ike did Ike things for the Wizards. He barely edges out Trae Young for 3rd place due to more First Place votes.

6th Man of the Year

Winner: Malik Beasley, PHX - 42 pts (7)
Runner Up: Marquess Chriss, HOU - 28 pts (3)
3rd place: Nik Stauskas, DET - 26 pts (3)

Others receiving first place votes or at least 10 total points: Ivan Rabb, WAS - 20 (3), Jahlil Okafor, TOR - 20 (2), Donovan Mitchell, ORL - 17 (2), Cheick Diallo, LAL - 13 (2), Mitch McGary, SAC - 13 (0), Jabari Brown, PHI - 10 (1), Cody Zeller, MEM - 8 (1), Vassilis Spanoulis, CLE - 7 (1), Bronson Koenig, UTA - 6 (1), Austin Rivers, LAC - 6 (1)

Notes: Another player who had a breakout season for the Suns. Beasley was the gunner from deep that they desperately needed, while Marquess Chriss found success in his new role for the Rockets. Nik Stauskas is always in this conversation due to his shooting and then some other big men made their presence known off the bench.

GM of the Year

Winner: wms02a - 67 pts (11)
Runner Up: Marcos_Beck - 55 pts (7)
3rd place: GreenBear - 32 pts (3)

Others receiving first place votes or at least 10 total points: emplep7 - 24 (2), KW - 15 (1), Rizzo - 8 (1), Sharkn20 - 8 (1), cleasby - 8 (1)

Notes: Bill makes it out on top, with Marcos right behind him. There is no doubt Bill dida great job assembling a very talented roster this season and Marcos put together arguably one of the most talented teams the CSL has ever seen. Doug is no surprise there and I will continue to finish 4th like last year until the end of time.

Coach of the Year

Winner: wms02a - 43 pts (5)
Runner Up: GreenBear- 42 pts (5)
3rd place: sharkn20 - 39 pts (6)

Others receiving first place votes or at least 10 total points: emplep7 - 23 (2), Dennis - 19 (2), drumr - 14 (1), Silogical - 12 (2), KW - 9 (1), Marcos_Beck - 8 (1), blackice - 7 (1), BigRigs33 - 5 (1)

Notes: The rare sweep is completed by Bill here which is quite the accomplishment as he barely squeaks out Doug in the Coach voting. Cesar actually received the most First Place votes which is great recognition from his peers and speaks volumes about the job he did with that roster!

Congrats to all of the winners, especially wms02a for taking the distinguished honors of both GM and Coach of the year and thank you to the 27 GMs who took part in this years voting!

Congrats Bill on grabbing the two most important awards in the league! Also thanks to all who decided I was worthy of any GM of the Year votes, especially the 1st place vote. Not sure what I did to deserve that but hopefully I do it more next year and stack some more points!

Congrats to all the winners, shame that Ike/Rabb didn't win their respective categories. Oh well!

Congrats to Spurs gm. From one of the worst run franchises and everyone criticizing his moves, to proving GM's wrong, myself included.

Well deserved for Spurs, they had a great off-season and regular season. It's a shame they were stuck with a "fake 7 seed" Sacramento Kings team in the first round.

Congrats to Bill on taking GM and coach of the year! Well deserved with what he's done with that team.

I'm not sure if that's serious or not, but I am all for the dpoy changed to the okaro white after he retires!

Also, Isaiah Taylor sat the least 24 games of the season due to our lead in the standings, so he had no business finishing on the podium for MVP, but he appreciates the love.

There's a part of me that's surprised I'm not on it, but I also slacked hard. Time to get that COTY/GMOTY next season 8-)

Fake news. Snubbed of GM or Coach of the year again. This is why I'm not active around here.
