2031-2032 Free Agent List

Post by Ramcus »

Now I don't have the fancy charts and lists that Flaming Homer can make, but there is a decent crop of free agents this time around. A lot of veterans who can make a big difference to a team in search of the lift that they need to propel them to where they want. Let's take a look.

Point Guards
Stars
Frank Ntilikina - All-League 2nd Team, just put up a career best offensive season
George DePaula - Still an elite floor setter, it remains to be seen how effective he can be
Trae Young - A Top Three 3 point shooter in the league, versatile in all facets.
Shaquille Harrison - One of the best defenders in the league at his position, with solid offensive efficiency. A prototype two-way point guard
Role Players
Dzanan Musa - Rock solid all-round point guard
D'Angelo Russell
Kris Dunn
Collin Sexton - Solid backup guard, would be better if he wasn't on a max contract.
Isaiah Whitehead
Trevon Duval
Denzel Livingston
Isaiah Cousins
Zhaire Smith
Derrick White
David Michineau
Tremont Waters - Wonder what he could do with a bigger role, young upstart

Shooting Guards
Stars
Jakeenan Gant - Not exactly a traditional 2 guard, Gant does everything a team wants him to do without the scoring. One of the best all-round guys in the league
Romeo Langford - Strong starter who plays a big role on a playoff team. Needs to fix his efficiency problems
Role Players
Dante Exum
Emmanuel Mudiay - Y'all know who this is
Tyus Battle
Elie Okobo
Jabari Bird - One of the best 3&D players at his position, consummate professional role player
Rashad Vaughn - Just finished a finals run playing a massive role off the bench. Top Tier 3 point shooter
Max Strus
Royce O'Neale - 3&D with a passivity issue, but rock solid
Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman
Nick Weiler-Babb - All D with none of the 3, but can handle the rock on occasion

Small Forwards
Stars
Jayson Tatum - Top Tier Scorer looking to play April/May basketball
Sekou Doumbouya - Elite multi-faceted two way wing looking for a salary increase
Role Players
Desmond Bane - 3&D
Vladimir Brodziansky
Oshae Brissett - Defense for daysss
Kevin Knox - Offense for daysss
Kevin Huerter
Ding Yanyuhang
Cody Martin - more defense
Justinian Jessup
Luka Samanic
Jaylen Morris
Jaylen Nowell
Yovel Zoosman - more offense
Patrick Williams - capable offensive wing who can attack closeouts with strong efficiency

Power Forwards
Stars
Michael Porter - Best scorer in the league
Kyle Kuzma - Talented player who can do everything asked from him
Role Players
Noah Vonleh - capable rebounder and efficient scorer
Jonathan Isaac - Defense 1st, 2nd, and... not 3rd. Some offensive capability at 3rd
Jordan Caroline
John Collins -capable rebounder and efficient scorer
Henry Ellenson - offensive triple threat
Stanley Johnson Jr. - former scoring star who still excels in his role
Marquese Chriss
Domantas Sabonis
Obi Toppin
Killian Tillie - finally turned the corner on his career with his offensive struggles. ratings indicate an efficient offensive player
Jaden McDaniels - All-Round player who can do a lil bit of everything
Jawun Morgan - Defense Defense Defense
Jon Teske

Centers
Stars
Marvin Bagley - Strong two-way C who oddly plays below his ratings, but his ratings indicate an All-Defense C with an efficient offensive game
DeAndre Ayton - Best C in the game
Robert Williams - Quality rotation big who can stuff the stat sheet
Jaren Jackson Jr. - Another All-Defense quality big, can play both big spots if needed
James Wiseman - Yet another All-Defense quality big. Floor spacer, efficient offensive player, but struggles with passivity
Michael Young - One of the best rebounders in the league
Laurynas Birutis - Post scoring machine who will play defense well enough
Role Players
Moses Brown - rotation big who can double as a starter when necessary
Ike Anigbogu - solid post scorer
Tony Bradley - quality starting big
Jahlil Okafor
Tryggvi Hlinason
Tim Kempton
Johnny Hamilton
Joshua Smith - capable do-it-all big defender
Ray Spalding - big rebounder

Very strong FA class when nobody has cap space... We really need to fix that as a league, cap space creates competition which is important!

Free agency system is broken, one way that may help and hopefully help price drive some of these free agents is to limit how long contracts can go for.

But the game only allowing you to make 1 offer for the amount of money you have is terrible, you should be allowed to offer 3 guys and the first one that signs gets the money. Way too many free agent discounts
FINALLY a logical HC Rule our work is done

Willy, you know what to do ;)

Regarding no cap space. I have no problem with it. As we all knew about this a few years ago and teams still overpaid for talent lol.

a lot of weight on willys shoulders and he doesnt even have the game.

most GMs overpaid because theyd be over the soft cap anyway. We just dont have a friendly system for cap space teams so why would anyone want to be a cap space team? This wont change unless the soft cap is raised. It needs to be a gradual increase. 2m per year for about 5 years.

It needs to be hammered in or it will fly away and come back as a player agent.

Ha I did what I could do about the Wiseman offer at least and given the space I have and what I'm looking to do with my team.

And yeah the only reason why I even made that offer is because I could see it. I don't really want Wiseman lol

But I understand why LAC made such an offer because no one else can really afford to.

*Hopefully Wiseman's agents don't hold that against us lol We want James

Lol sorry

It's just that $10M + raises was just too egregious, had it been higher I wouldn't have done it

Yep this is why I just offered everyone what they asked. Y'all better take whatever discount they're willing to give. lol I hate how stressful NBA FA is. NFL FA is relaxing by comparison lol

Seems like a nice offseason to have some cap space to pair someone with a certain reigning rookie of the year...
