Cap space teams need to keep home teams honest. Bargains start around days 9+ cap space teams need to wait in the shadows ready to snipe players on days 6-9 so home teams are scared to not sign their players by day 6.

I know some GMs dont like price driving but those are the GMs that want bargains. Price driving is pretty important.

Cap space teams need to offer a tad more than home teams. If they do with this engine, Ben Simmons could bolt. Not just him, others too like Isiah Taylor on the Nuggets. Go grab a star fellas. Especially with the new feature, that includes promises.

This is as unpredictable as it has ever been. That's why I'm not messing around with Lonzo and offered him max money. But I'm sure teams will try to lowball their players until a bigtime UFA leaves mother team. Then, people will understand they can't mess with free agency anymore and need to pay for their players.

Who knows how promises work too and it would be all ball rating based anyway so you could essentially offer someone like a Ball, Adams or Williams to be the top tier star and the game would accept that promise and who knows how powerful that is or other promises.

I didn’t comment on this cause I didn’t wanna draw attention to Patton but this is great Jon. Quick read summarizes all the info on the FA class and I appreciate the notes as to why you ranked guys where you did. I think Patton is the offensive alpha on my team but Young is probably better overall and Hezonja will lead the team in shots. Hopefully Fultz helps them both get easier looks.

Yeah, I also believe it wont change. The new max contract but still same hardcap make it very hard to be able to offer a max to pressure a team. Cant even dream of how a team should free up money for two max contracts.

Yeah and not just the hard cap, rebuilding teams don't want to go over the luxury tax and lose their MLE/LLE or picks.

But let's see how it all plays out.

I wasn’t playing around with SGA and gave him max money from the jump. Probably could have gotten him a tad cheaper with the 5th year but didn’t want to risk him signing an offer sheet and run the risk of him entering UFA a season earlier.

Yeah I've been really sick so didn't have a chance but I'm doing the same with Thybulle. Worth it and just get it done.

It's teams with cap space fault for targetting the wrong players or ones they're no chance with which is fine, they can just stay irrelevant. I was critical of the Cavs recently but they played this FA really well and going after Semi was great and getting Kork was good too.
