But really, kid is going to be a good player. He's an athlete who can play defense, and is a hard worker too! Going to be a good player next to Khris Middleton, and Deandre Jordan!wms02a wrote: ↑Wed May 16, 2018 2:26 pmSuch an Aggie Posthardenwithnod wrote: ↑Wed May 16, 2018 1:32 pm Robert Williams, remember the name. Re: 2018 NBA Draft Class: CSL Expert Analysis
I think with Phoenix number 1 that means Doncic is going into that top pick. They need a floor general next to Booker and he fits the mold where they don't really "need" Ayton.
If Ayton was a rim protector he would be a beast and could end up being Embiid-lite if he polishes up his defense. I'm hoping it falls that way as I would like to see Ayton tear it up for the Kings and make that unprotected pick a little worse for the Celtics.
I also think Porter is going to be a bust and will end up either being injury prone or just not a good all around player. And I would love the Sixers getting the better Bridges.

C'mon man, that's unnecessary! We could use a little lottery luck!emplep7 wrote: ↑Wed May 16, 2018 7:14 pmIf Ayton was a rim protector he would be a beast and could end up being Embiid-lite if he polishes up his defense. If we could just add one young big man via that Kings pick in 2019 then the Celtics may have a decent future ahead of them...
PS - is it bad that I *actually* thought we had a chance to jump in the lottery Tuesday night even though it was a 2.9% chance? I mean with the way things have been going for us lately it seemed probable.

I'm hoping next years class is historically bad and that Ainge trades Tatum and Brown for Kahwi. I'm actually looking forward to Kyrie and Hayward coming back as I think the C's are easier to beat with them playing.

Not a chance Ainge would ever deal Brown and Tatum for Kawhi.

Re: 2018 NBA Draft Class: CSL Expert Analysis
Bring on the Euro heat and hate...
Luka Doncic = BUST! I've been watching his film this morning and I'm not a fan of his game in terms of transitioning to the NBA. His defense - lateral quickness, strength, effort, etc. - is abysmal.
On offense he is crafty but I fail to see how he creates separation to get off his jumper that he is seemingly in love with. In a league that is predicated on taking advantage of switches of big men on to ball handlers, Doncic (again, from the clips I've seen) rarely victimized bigs on switches by getting to the rack. He has a smooth looking step-back (always to his left) but against decently athletic big men he seemed to get stifled.
This isn't some ignorant American take that you hear from a lot of people from this country that just hate on international prospects. I truly believe that this kid is going to be over-drafted and expectations will be too high for him to ever meet. I fail to see this kid ever making an All-Star game.

Re: 2018 NBA Draft Class: CSL Expert Analysis
I will be an ignorant American and agree with Adam here. He is not athletic enough to play a guard position and won’t be able to keep up in the NBA. Teams will target him and he won’t be able to adjust.
That said, all signs point to the suns taking him which I think they’ll regret big time five years from now.

When you read Adam's comment and remember he drafted hariston over Wright etc. Says everything you need about his ability to judge players

What was worse: drafting Hairston over Wright or trading away Tristan Thompson for Zach Randolph?

Re: 2018 NBA Draft Class: CSL Expert Analysis
This thread is going to be awesome in a year from now lol. Some fire takes in here. I wanna say the name Jontay Porter in here. Look out for this kid. I love his skillset. A triple threat center who scores at all three levels and plays defense. If he stays at school he's a lottery pick next season. My Lakers have been taking looks at him.
