I made a thread about this a few seasons ago. I'm in favor of it for sure.

I remember something about the file bombing if anything irregular happens with player instructions. I don't know the details, but this was discussed and shot down in the past.

Article trading:

A thought came into my mind. This was done in a league I was in years ago.

Trade article writing for picks. Basically a gm will write you a certain amount of articles (3 for example). In return you trade him pick or two.

This would be perfect in a lot of ways. Someone that loves to write can be rewarded with a pick.

Positives:
More articles in the league
Only picks can be traded, nothing else
Helps GM's that have super busy lives and can't afford to write articles to scout
Rewards GM's that love to write and then can't write more, because there are a limit for articles per scouting period.

Negatives:
A little extra work for simmer with trades

Mull it over. Could be great for the league.

How do you hold people accountable to that? Do the articles get written before the trade happens? Does the trade happen first?

Yeah that's the tricky part. What I was thinking was... process the trade and if the one team doesn't write those articles in a certain amount of time for some reason, trades gets reversed. Like I said, it will give the simmers a little extra work but I think the benefits of this out way the negatives and will boost even more activity, especially those who love writing and can be rewarded with picks.
Something to think about.

Yeah can be done if you want some more buzz for your team. Those articles won't be allowed as scouting articles though.

That's the whole point of my suggestion lol
To use the articles for scouting or else the articles mean nothing. Win-win situation I think but doesn't bother me either way. I write articles just thinking of what can help some GM's that love writing and some GM's that hate writing.

Would result in more traffic in the draft section.
