Re: DDS19 Transition
Dennis - Being tasked with creating the rookies, I understand that bigs shooting threes is something we need to keep an eye on. With that said, if it is still an issue I believe keeping big men inside the arc (ATB and COR both set to 0) we should be able to battle that problem. Then, if we have big man that we actually want to make a three-point shooter, we understand how to make that happen. It’s something we will definitely be testing throughout the process though.

Re: DDS19 Transition
Just saying that dds19 still has flaws and is unplayable if not stressed correctly. I've full trust in jon though. So I don't really worry.

I love how 7s and Pace/Space look. Will have to see if they have the effect I expect them to have as I haven't touched strats yet

Same here. Love the possibilities we could have, but was not able to really test it yet.

Re: DDS19 Transition
Great news, the defensive matchup setting does indeed work. I tested two things, one being the "Assignment" tab and the other being the "Individual Matchup" tab.
Assignment Tab
So I figured the easiest way to see if this works would be to try letting my center guard the best perimeter player for a whole season. So first, in the control test, where I didn't change any defensive settings and let the game just do its thing, my center faced 135 drives for an average of 1.6 per game and stopped 64% of them. When I ran the season with him guarding the best perimeter player, my center faced 643 drives. I ran these tests with the same exact philosophies and defensive scheme both times, and set the injury slider to 0% so there were no injuries, my center played all 82 games both seasons.
Control sim (no assignment): 135 drives faced, 1.6 per game, 64% STOP
Test sim (assigned to best perimeter player): 643 drives faced, 7.8 per game, 3.3% STOP
I used the matchup tab to do the same as above to see if it would work, and it did. I set my center to guard their point guard, and he faced an average of 5.5 drives per game in the playoff series. Without the matchup set, my center faced 2 drives per game in the series. So it's pretty clear, both the "Assignment" and "Individual Matchup" options work.
I've also watched games previously in the 2D game mode (outside of these tests), and I can confirm that the assignment is reflected in the game. So add this to the list of benefits we're getting by transitioning to DDS19

Re: DDS19 Transition
Great news! Makes things a lot more interesting and will no longer allow GMs to "hide" players across the lineup to get away from a team's best defensive option.

This will also eliminate the randomness factor of whack-a-mole shuffling to try and guess where a GM is going to put a guy in the playoffs and the best-constructed teams will win more consistently.

Re: DDS19 Transition
Exactly. Not going to lie that my success so far this season largely stems off of being able to match Hezonja up on a weaker defender based on depth chart and rotations. That won’t be happening in PB19 and I’m all for it.

Re: DDS19 Transition
I just got a new laptop from work so I'd be interested in this.
Mostly more just interested in re-joining alltogether, I was without a laptop for a good chunk of my last tenure here and with work increasing became harder to maintain without one. But looks like all GMs might be active as of now?
I'll also note I haven't had my "own" laptop for almost 7 years so...this changes things for me, everything becomes much easier.

Re: DDS19 Transition
Thoughts on expediting the transition?
This League is getting stiff it seems, activity low, I traded Paul George and DeMarcus Cousins last time this happened to liven it up which made Exum get traded because the GM didn't wanna be outdone.
Rigor mortis will soon set in....

Contending teams are happy and rebuilding teams are also. The middle teams are having a hard time finding trade partners because they don't want to lose value, in a trade.WillyJakkz wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2019 2:16 am Thoughts on expediting the transition?
