Re: Player Potential Database
So how a player uses his RA and ITP scoring?
Is it
RA --> Drive & Shoot and
ITP --> Post up??
Agreed to the +/-

Re: Player Potential Database
I'm personally not a huge fan of having coaches dictate what you see. I've always considered myself to be the defacto coach/gm. It's why we have a coach of the hear and gm of the year. So I do think deviations shouldn't be influenced by coaching staff.
I also think there should be a grading scale. For example 42-45 mid = B. With the 4 point deviation a player that has a 40 mid rating could still be rated as a B with the 4 point deviation when in reality they are a b-. Would be nice to at least have some context to what the grades mean

Re: Player Potential Database
I like having coaches dictate the potentials. Means you have to be financially responsible with who you hire(which is part of being a "general manager).
Also agree with the A+, A, B+,B and so on for shooting

Re: Player Potential Database
My coaches are selected based on strat rating which is the only one that counted ;m(next to dev if you had a young team), so it would be weird to change already this season and thought evaluation strength will only be relevant from next season on anyway looking at Jon’s post?

Re: Player Potential Database
Also like the coaches having some relevance now because they're actually kind of useless. I guess that's why I was okay with the game showing potentials based on coach evaluations (hard for those without though which is why this database is very cool.
So now other than going after coaches with strategy or development ratings, not that we have any proof there's any benefit there, this means evaluation categories are important.

Re: Player Potential Database
This is fantastic! Great job, and than you admin team!!
I like how the potential shooting ratings are given now. IMO between the database, player stats, the ratings DDS provides, comparing your players rating vs similar players, and a player's age (possibility for potential development) there is more than enough information to have a really good idea of how well a player can/could shoot in the different ranges. Also, combine ratings are provided that give a +/- 4 current shooting and with a single scout you can get a players +/-2 potential shooting. I do agree with Kyrus that showing rim and dunk rate would be beneficial.
I don't think this system will be detrimental for new GM's - it's alot more than is currently provided! Other GM's are always willing to share scouts whenever I have asked and I don't think will stop with the transition. Maybe a rule could be to allow new GM's receive a "scout" (like what is provided on CSLO) of their current team when they take over and a # of other CSL players per season?
I like that the player potentials are tied to coaches ability. This will add another layer to hiring coaches vs spending money on medical staff.

Re: Player Potential Database
Thanks for adding the dunk/RA rates, and +/- in the database.
My question now is can we get a range on these letter grades, so we can narrow down the ratings a bit easier in comparison to our scouts, and see how off the deviations are? Thanks!

Re: Player Potential Database
Is it possible that corner and ATB are switched? I'm going through all scouting reports from my players and at least one of them has them switched, probably two others as well.

Re: Player Potential Database
I looked at the source code and it doesn't seem to be switched.
Shoot me a pm with the other rating you suspect and wen can look in the detail of your scouting ratings.
