DDS First Round Playoff Schedule (PLEASE READ)
Hey All,
Thanks to Kyrus to finding yet another magical DDS "improvement", Doug for ranting about it to spark the fire, and Myles for doing Myles things by testing this out in the game and putting the below proposals together.
So the current iteration of the engine decided that playoff scheduling for the FIRST ROUND ONLY should be laid out as follows:
Day 1: All Eastern Conference games are played
Day 2: All of both EC and WC games are played
Day 3: All WC games are played.
Day 4: All EC
Day 5: Both EC and WC
Day 6: All WC
Day 7: All EC
Day 8: All WC
Day 9: All EC
Day 10: All WC
Day 11: All EC
Day 12: ALL WC
The way it is laid out "could" mean 12 sims to get through the first round of the playoffs which is absurd.
What we have are essentially two options for the first round so that we don't extend them much more than they already take:
Option 1: "No Double Sims" - Proposal Below (refer to days above)
Sim 1: All EC games (Day 1)
Sim 2: Both EC and WC (Day 2)
Sim 3: All WC games (Day 3), All EC (Day 4)
Sim 4: Both EC and WC (Day 5)
Sim 5: All WC (Day 6), All EC (Day 7)
Sim 6: All WC (Day 8), All EC (Day 9)
Sim 7: All WC (Day 10), All EC (Day 11)
Sim 8: All WC (Day 12) ** if needed
Overview: This allows for teams to game plan for every game, but does lead to the potential to put 1 extra day onto the first round (if any series goes to 7 games/less likely in the first round)
Option 2: "Early Double Sim" - Proposal Below (refer to days above)
Sim 1: All EC games (Day 1), Both EC and WC (Day 2), All WC games (Day 3
Sim 2: All EC (Day 4)
Sim 3: Both EC and WC (Day 5),
Sim 4: All WC (Day 6)
Sim 5: All EC (Day 7), All WC (Day 8)
Sim 6: All EC (Day 9), All WC (Day 10)
Sim 7: All EC (Day 11), All WC (Day 12)
Overview: This cuts the round down to 7 sims,, but does include double sims early in the round.
Since the playoffs are starting this Sunday, we wanted to get as much feedback as possible. Please vote and post your reasoning below.
Additionally, we wanted this to kick off a discussion around our playoff scheduling in general and see if GMs are open to double sims in the playoffs to cut down the time they take (impacts the non-playoff GMs the most) or if we overall like the structure.
Let us know!
Thanks,

Option 1 for sure. I don't see any downside to that one at all, where as the double sims could be very problematic in case of injury or bad matchup

I think that in the playoffs, it's far more important that teams get to game plan for each individual game. I don't think possibly waiting an extra day or 2's worth of sims is too much to ask for out of the non-playoff teams.

Re: DDS First Round Playoff Schedule (PLEASE READ)
I need to be able to game plan for each sim, like I did in the regular season.
Awesome jokes aside, if there is not a lot of time being saved (1 day if I'm reading correctly) then there is no real benefit in option two.

Yeah, we will not have any double sims and will stick to the 8 sim day schedule.
Now all the Western Conference has to do is make sure there are no 7 game series in the first round so that we stay on the current schedule (no pressure).

It's possible to do it as always. That's what we do in the GAH. Sim the first day all EC games. Then in day 2 check the boxes in EC games and the game will just sim WC games. After that you will see on the screen the first EC game of the day to be played. Cancel to go back and that's it. Repeat the process and you have the full first round in seven days as always.

Going with the consensus but as long as there are no double sims, that's all that matters really.
