Coach Hiring Sim 2 - Results

Post by The Simmer » Tue Jul 03, 2018 10:46 pm

Notes:
- New Orleans Pelicans put in a bid for Phil Jackson on day 1, but Phil's asking price was actually above the standard $8,000,000 offer for head coaches, so the bid was adjusted and Phil Jackson was awarded to New Orleans.
- Phoenix Suns put in a bid for Morgan Landry on day 1, but the bid was put in wrong by mistake, so Morgan Landry was awarded to the Phoenix Suns
- @Portland: neither Brian Hamilton nor James Hooper are currently in coaching free agency.
- @Memphis: Since Landry was awarded to Phoenix, Battier was kept as your A1 for now. He can always be promoted again if you would like to hire another coach as A1.
*If you notice a mistake made in an offer, please let us know. I think I got them all right but I also inputted a ton of offers so you never know.

Team id thing is gay. Only fair thing to do, is figure a new system out for future seasons.

Already been discussed and admins are talking. And not hiring anyone was your own screwup this round, especially Kenny Cross. Knicks had him bid as A1 before you even posted, so you knew you were going to miss out on him. I even posted, warning people that they weren't paying attention and were going to get hit by that.

Good the admins are talking(thanks). Who knows what assistant coaches bring, but I've had no potential boosts and I know a few of my players still have a little potential, to get better. So fixing this issue, especially for an assistant who has good ratings in certain areas(development), could fix that issue.

Some believe they don’t, some believe they do. I personally think they do make a difference

If I was a bookie I would have coaches have 0 impact as a larger favorite than the warriors winning another title next year.

If there was any impact if would be in development, its the only possible area it could be in but there has been no evidence that they have had any impact in that area and far too much evidence that dont. I have seen players boom and bust under the same coaching staff, said players get traded and still continue the exact same development schedule.
FINALLY a logical HC Rule our work is done

After 8 seasons with Phil Jackson, we've parted ways, and welcome Mark Jackson as our new coach. Hopefully coaches' player development ratings mean something and we didn't just throw away our mastermind because that would kinda suck.

PG: Tyus Jones / Tyler Ulis / Nigel Williams-Goss
SG: Dragan Bender / Malik Monk / Kyle Lowry / Reggie Jackson
SF: Nicolas Batum / Davis Bertans / Jakarr Sampson
PF: Kevon Looney / Al-Farouq Aminu
C: Karl-Anthony Towns / Justin Patton / Rudy Gobert

I think they do - no proof of it though.
